f) Load Cases and Load Combinations

Following the usage of IEC 61936-1, there are two load cases existing only, the normal load case and the exceptional load case. Within these load
cases different load combinations have to be examined.
The load combinations for the normal load case are:
Load combination 1: Dead Load
Load combination 2: Dead Load + Conductor Tension Load + Erection Load
Load combination 3: Dead Load + Tension Load + Wind Load in X-direction
Load combination 4: Dead Load + Tension Load + Wind Load in Y-direction
In the exceptional load case permanent loads (dead load and maximum tension load) shall be combined with the largest of the occasional loads.
Following load combinations are resulting from this:
Load combination 5: Dead Load + Short-Circuit Forces
Load combination 6: Dead Load + Tension Load + Switching Forces
Load combination 7: Dead Load + Tension Load + Earthquake Load in x/z-direction
Load combination 8: Dead Load + Tension Load + Earthquake Load in y/z-direction
g) Tension Load of Line Termination Structures:
The line terminating structures would be designed to withstand, for the loads of line conductors and earth wire with the following assumptions:
- Maximum angle for Line Terminations would be considered to be 300
- Max span between the line terminal tower & incoming gantry structure would not exceed 75m for 132kV Gantries and 150m for 400 kV Gantries.
- Tensional load of conductors between line terminal tower and incoming gantry structure would not exceed 2200kg/phase.

For designing purposes the resistivity of soil will be calculated during soil survey using Winner four electrode method, by ETP and the results thus
obtained would be forwarded to contractor. Resistivity measurements have to be made after excavations and/or back filling to achieve the final grading
level. Based upon the soil resistivity data from ETP, earthing system calculations shall be carried out in accordance with IEEE 80-2000. For simulation
of the designed earthing system CYMGRID software would be used and necessary reports would be submitted for ETP approval. The following basic
parameters shall be used in the design process:

Outdoor Equipment grounding shall be done from diagonally opposite side of each steel structure that is two connections for each steel structure. Cad
weld (Thermo weld) shall be used for jointing of underground mesh. Grounding Pads shall be provided under the control cubicles of Outdoor
Disconnecting Switches and Circuit Breakers. Pads shall be made of galvanized iron strips and shall be supported on RCC foundations and shall be
grounded from diagonally opposite points. For Switchgear Building earthing, use of steel strips connected with the reinforcement steel of the building as
well as wire mesh grating is proposed to provide faraday cage protection & better potential grading in the floor to avoid dangerous touch and step
potentials.
NOTE: - proposal for faraday cage formed by reinforcement shall be submitted with earthing calculation.

Lightning protection system is proposed by using overhead shield wires in line with VDE 0101 HD637 S1. In case required one of the below stated
options would be employed:
- Lightning rods (Length 3m and diameter 16) made of galvanized steel shall be installed on top of gantry structures.
- Use of Active lightning rods on top of buildings.
