GARDEN BED ASSIGNMENTS

Permanent Bed Assignments: Permanent assignments to
garden beds will be made by the respective Garden Bed Manager
based on availability and apartment location. Residents of
Springdale Vista and Crestview Terrace are entitled to permanent
beds in the East garden area. They may not hold a permanent
bed in the West garden area. Residents of Gardenview Court,
Willow Ridge, and Pecan Grove are entitled to permanent beds in
the West garden area. They may not hold a permanent bed in the
East garden area. A permanent bed can not be held by a member
who does not personally maintain and plant in it.
Temporary Bed Assignments: Beds that are not assigned on a
permanent basis are available to be assigned to a member on a
temporary basis without regard to member’s residence. The bed
will remain the property of the member as long as it is planted
and maintained according to club rules and does not qualify for
reassignment to a new member.
Transfer of Temporary Beds: When a new member requests
a bed
and there is no unassigned bed available prior to March 1,
the new member will be assigned a bed transferred from
another member's temporary inventory. Members with the
most temporary beds, in the appropriate garden, will be the
first to relinquish a bed to the new member. If more than 1
member holds the same number of temporary beds a lottery
will be held to determine which member will give up a bed.
For example, if a new member applies for a bed before
March 1 the
member holding the largest number of temporary beds will
be
asked to relinquish one. If multiple members hold the same
number of temporary beds, a lottery will be held among
those holding the largest
number of temporary beds. The lottery sequence expires
after March 1

and will be redrawn on or after the January meeting of the
following year.
Note: It is strongly suggested that those with multiple beds
not plant in them prior to March 1. The reason being, should
you have to relinquish that bed to a new member, you will
be subject to remove that planting.
