Each air conditioning unit shall be complete with electrically powered isolation dampers on the supply and return air ducts to enable automatic unit selection and maintenance functions to be carried out whilst the alternative unit is running.2 Air Conditioning & Ventilation . Access panels shall be provided to enable routine maintenance to be carried out and permit the site removal of faulty components. all pre-wired and works tested ready to receive site connections. The automatic change over should be through the air flow differential pressure switch installed in the supply duct and also through the high temperature thermostat installed in the space (Control Room). They shall operate with refrigerant R1342 or R4070 and be complete with a permanent power feed to the crankcase electric heaters to guard against flood back conditions and elimination of oil fluffing on start up. Packaged air Conditioning Units . Visible indication lamps shall be provided for the motorized dampers position on the control panel. The room conditions to be complied with the schedules within Clause 4. The casing of the unit shall be internally lined with a Class 2 fire resistant thermal/acoustic lining. controlled by an "interval timer" or manually. Time delay should be provided between the opening of motorized dampers and starting of the stand-by packaged A/C unit's blower so that blower starts only upon full opening of the motorized damper. The performance of the units shall be certified to ARI 210 or equivalent standard.Ducted Units The Contractor shall provide and fix packaged air conditioning units of the single zone direct expansion type. Distorted or damaged panel fits will not be acceptable. Extract fans shall be provided within toilet areas. All such access panels shall be close fitting and fully gasketted to prevent air leakage and moisture migration. The surface of the lining shall act as a vapor barrier and also prevent particle migration to the airstreams. Compressors shall be fully hermetic or semi-hermetic reciprocating type fixed upon anti-vibration mountings. degreased and coated with dry powder epoxy resin paint baked after application or otherwise suitably protected to give a service life of at least 10 years for the locality in which they are installed. The base of the evaporator section shall contain a full width non corrodible . Automatic change over arrangement for the packaged A/C Unit shall be provided in case of failure of the duty unit. Electrical interlock between the duty and stand-by unit shall be provided to enable only one unit to be operated at a time. The cabinet shall be fully weather sealed and arranged to shed rain water. pre-charged with refrigerant and lubricant oil. Each unit shall be fully packaged with all components fully assembled.

Each refrigerant circuit shall include liquid refrigerant shut-off valves. sectionally equalized thermostatic expansion valve having adjustable superheat. Water connection with hose reel of appropriate length and water pump of suitable capacity shall be provided for condenser and filters cleaning. Evaporator and condenser bearings shall be of robust and durable construction fully grease sealed or fitted with extended lubrication points. Condenser coil assemblies shall be constructed as for the cooling coils. GTC 524/2012 Installation of emergency TFSs & internal piping improvement in selected RPSs The compressor control systems to be low voltage complete with MCB's and all contactors external and internal overloads. All evaporator and condenser fans shall be statically and dynamically balanced at works to ISO 1940 balance quality classification. The condenser coil and fins shall be protected by an industrial type phenol formaldehyde synthetic resin or any other form of corrosion protection rating approved by KAHRA-MAA. Fins shall be aluminum and tubes of copper and also. factory set high/low pressure switches. An airflow switch (Differential pressure type) shall be fitted and arranged so that in the event of a fan. The details of the coils protection coatings shall be submitted to KAHRA-MAA for approval before ordering. The fin spacing for condenser shall be as per latest MEW A/C regulations. Motors are to be mounted in a manner to permit easy removal. motor or belt failure the control circuits are inhibited co preventing operation of any component functions. fuses and protection equipment. moisture indicating sight glass. Air flow switch shall be of differential pressure type. servicing. Fan impellers and casings shall be adequately protected from corrosion. Motors to be totally enclosed fan cooled type to BS 4999 with windings insulated to minimum Class B standards and conforming dimensionally to IEC 72. large capacity sieve filter drier and head pressure controls to cycle the condenser fans and so maintain system pressure at low ambient temperature. the special type of condenser coil shall be provided to prevent corrosion from salt laden atmosphere. The protective coating of the condenser coil shall be provided against the salt laden atmosphere and the industrial exhaust gases in the area. All such coatings shall be applied at the manufacturers work.2 Air Conditioning & Ventilation . The dual compressors shall be complete with staggered start timer and means to operate a single compressor circuit should the second unit be faulty. Units shall be complete with the components listed within Clause 5.Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation Tender NO.

The unit chassis. Cabinets shall be thermally/sound insulated and attractive in appearance. Evaporator and condenser fan bearings shall be robust and durable construction complete with fully grease sealed. d. 50 Hz. compressor. Weatherproof local main power isolators lockable and emergency stop locks shall be provided for each unit. 4 wire electrical supply. Unit shall comprise of DX cooling coil condenser. The design shall permit the easy repair/replacement of the bearings and motor assemblies under site conditions. c. MECHANICAL VENTILATION The motor and pump hall of control and pumping station building shall be mechanically ventilated utilizing 100% fresh air to: a) Always overpressure the room to exclude dust. Units shall be cabled to a wall mounted switched and fused spur outlet. All units shall be suitable for a single phase power supply to suit the unit capacity.2. evaporator and condenser fans and washable filter. Adjustable thermostat Fan speed selection (2 OR 3 SPEED) Fresh/exhaust air selector switch Off/fan/cool switch Air filters shall be of the framed washable type arranged for easy periodic cleaning. Sound level shall not exceed 45 dbA (NC 45) at low speed and 50 dbA (NC 50) at high speed when measured at one meter distance in a room with normal occupancy and furnishing. Each unit shall be capable of providing room fresh/exhaust air requirements and fully pre-wired set of user control consisting of the following: a. The external intake/exhaust grille and surround shall be hot dip galvanized mild steel complete with anti-vermin guard all suitably painted or otherwise protected. b. Evaporator and condenser coils shall have copper tubes and aluminum fins. panels and components shall be hot dipped galvanized.6. 3 phases. 3. To achieve reasonable acoustic performance the units should be selected upon their low/medium performance rating.2 Air Conditioning & Ventilation . etched.
