Aaron Webster & wife This indenture made the Eleventh day of August in the year of our To Lord one thousand Eight hundred and twenty three between Aaron Elizur Goodrich Webster and Sarah Webster of Oakland in the County of Oakland and Territory of Michigan of the first part and Elizur Goodrich of said Oakland of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the second first part for and in consideration of the sum of [two?] hundred dollars current money of the United States to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part at and before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the [sic] do hereby acknowledge and thereof and therefore and of and from every part and parcel thereof do acquit release exhonorate and discharge the said party of the second part his heirs executors administrators and assigns and every of them by these presents have granted bargained sold aliened remised released and confirmed and by these presents do fully freely and absolutely grant bargain sell alien remise release and confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and being situate in Bloomfield in the county and Territory aforesaid being the West half of the South East Quarter of Section Six of Township two North in range Eleven East in the District of Detroit and Territory of Michigan containing eighty acres & likewise the East half of the South West Quarter of Section Six of Township two North in range Eleven East in the aforesaid District of Detroit and Territory of Michigan containing eighty acres and forty three hundredths of an acre reference being had to two patents received by the foresaid Aaron Webster from the President of the United States bearing date the first day of December one thousand Eight hundred and twenty one Together with all and Singular hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to the said messuage lot of parcel and premises belonging or in anywise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder & remainders rents issues and profits thereof and of every part and parcel to of and also all the Estate right title interest property [?] claim and demand whatsoever of the said party of the f[irst] part and each of them of in and to the said same or any part or parcel thereof. To have and to hold the said messuage and lot of ground or premises with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs [and] assigns forever And the said party of the first party their heirs all and singular the aforesaid messuage & lot of ground [?] premises with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances hereby granted and released and every part [or] parcel thereof unto the said party of the second part his heirs assigns against them the said party of the first part their heirs & assign[ns] and against all & every other person or persons whatsoever sha[ll] and will warrant and defend forever defend by these presents And the said party of the first part for themselves their heirs executors and administrators and each and every of them do hereby promise covenant grant and agree to & with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns in manner and f[orm?] following That is To say that they the said party of the first part are at the time of the ensealing and delivery of these presents true lawful & rightful owners and proprietors of the said messuage and lot of ground and premises with their and every of their rig[ht] members and appurtenances and every part and parcel thereof a good pure perfect and indefeasible estate of inheritance in fee simple without any manner of condition or limitation or of any other matter cause or thing whatsoever to determine alter change or defeat the same And that they [the] said party of the first part have in themselves good right full power and lawful and absolute authority to grant bargain sell remise release & confirm the said messuage and lot of land and premises with this and every of their appurtenances unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns in manner or form aforesaid And also that he the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns and every of them shall and may f[rom] time to time and at all times forever hereafter peaceably and Quietly have hold use occupy possess and enjoy all & singular the premises herein before mentioned or intended to be
[here]by conveyed and every part and parcel thereof with them and every of them appurtenances without any let suit troubles denial eviction ejection or interruption whatsoever of or by them the said party of the first part their heirs or assigns or of in by of and from all and all manner of former and other bargains sales gifts grants feoffments devices dowers rights titles of dower uses issues fines annuities debts duties judgments executions recognizance and all other estates rights titles troubles charges incumbrances whatsoever had made committed done or suffered to be had made committed done or suffered in any wise whatsoever by them the said party of the first part or by any other person or persons whatsoever having or lawfully claiming any estate right title or interest of in or to the same or any part or parcel thereof And moreover they the said party of the first part and their heirs and every other person or persons having or lawfully claiming any estate right title or interest of in and to the said messuage lot of ground and premises or any part or parcel thereof by from or under them shall and will from time to time and at all times hereafter upon the reasonable request and at the proper costs and charges of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns make do acknowledge levy suffer and execute or cause and procure to be made done acknowledged levied suffered and executed all and every such further and other act and acts thing and things device and devices conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further better and more effectual conveying settling and assuring of all and singular the premises herein before mentioned or interested to be herein conveyed with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances to the only proper use and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever or his or their counsel learned in the law shall be reasonably [devised?] or allowed and required In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangably [sic] set their hands and seals the day and year first above written (signed) William Thompson J C.
