Word prossesing software: A word processor is an electronic device or


computersoftware application, that performs the task of composition, editing, formatting, printing
of documents.
Spreadsheet software: an electronic document in which data is arranged in the rows and

columns of a grid and can be manipulated and used in calculations.


Presentation software: PowerPoint is computer software created by Microsoft which allows the

user to create slides with recordings, narrations, transitions and other features in order to
present information. An example of PowerPoint is presentation software made byMicrosoft
Application or Office Suites: The primary programs are word processing, spreadsheet and
presentation graphics; for example, Word, Excel and PowerPoint from Microsoft and Pages,
Numbers and KeyNote from Apple
Desktop publishing: the production of printed matter by means of a printer linked to a desktop
computer, with special software. The system enables reports, advertising matter, company
magazines, etc., to be produced cheaply with a layout and print quality similar to that of typeset
books, for xerographic or other reproduction.
Graphics software: In computer graphics, graphics software refers to a program or collection
ofprograms that enable a person to manipulate images or models visually on a computer. These
are the application software which lets the user to create and manipulate any type of
computer graphics with the use of an operating system.
Internet browser software: Computer Definition. A software application used to locate and
display Web pages. Two popular Internet browsers are Netscape Navigator and
Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Both of these are classified as graphical browsers; they display
both graphics and text.

Communication and file sharing: File sharing is the public or private sharing of
computer data or space in a network with various levels of access privilege. While files can
easily be shared outside a network (for example, simply by handing or mailing someone your file
on a diskette), the term file sharing almost always means sharing files in a network, even if in a
small local area network. File sharing allows a number of people to use the same file or file by
some combination of being able to read or view it, write to or modify it, copy it, or print it.
Typically, a file sharing system has one or more administrators. Users may all have the same or
may have different levels of access privilege. File sharing can also mean having an allocated
amount of personal file storage in a common file system
Telephony software: The term is also used frequently to refer to computer
hardware, software, and computer network systems, that perform functions traditionally
performed by telephone equipment. In this context the technology is specifically referred to as
Internet telephony
