Tips & Tricks to prepare Engineering Mathematics

Engineering Mathematics is very important for the GATE exam as the
weight-age of this subject is around 15 marks. If you can manage to
prepare in the following way then it is easy for you to score well in GATE.
This article covers important questions and answers about Engineering
Mathematics preparation, also provides chapter wise detailed analysis
on Engineering Mathematics subject for GATE Exam.

"The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go"
Which book is good for GATE Preparation?
Answer: Higher Engineering Mathematics ByB. S. Grewal.
How to read the book for GATE preparation?
Answer:
Practice all the related topics which are relevant to GATE syllabus.
Make a revision (short) notes for every topic which cover all
important points and formulas while practicing the problems.
Practice the previous GATE problems after every topic completion.
How many days or months required completing the syllabus?
Answer: It may take minimum 1 month for beginners. But every aspirant
could have studied engineering mathematics in their undergraduate
courses, so it is easier to complete in less than 20 days with preparation
of 2 to 3 hours per day.
How to practice to remember the concepts and formulas?
Answer: Do not waste your time to read many books. Follow the
recommended book and practice minimum two times to remember the
concepts and revise the formulas in every week.
Important tips to remember for preparation and revision:
Preparation of the subject is not enough for GATE Exam; practice
previous GATE Questions and attempt online practice tests to
understand/remember/revise the concepts.

@Swapnil Mall , rst concentrate on basic subjects like mathematics, and

rst two year subjects which are common in GATE. Once you get the
knowledge over those subjects start preparing GATE.
