As you may know, Canada did not support the action of the United States and its coalition of the willing in its military action against Iraq. Canada held the view that UN weapons inspectors should be allowed more time to find any suspected weapons of mass destruction. Given the current knowledge of the situation in Iraq, do you believe that the Prime Minister and the Government of Canada was justified in not supporting the United States and its coalition in its military action against Iraq ? ___________________________________________________________________________ Proportions/Means: Columns Tested (5% risk level) - A/B/C/D/E/F - G/H/I - J/K * small base REGION AGE GENDER TOTAL BC ALB SK/MN ONT QUE ATL 18-34 35-54 55+ Male Female A B C D E F G H I J K Base: All Respondents Unweighted Base Weighted Base Yes

As you may know, the main reason used by the United States as justification for its military action against Saddam Hussein was that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction and posed an immanent threat to the United States, the Middle East and the world. To date, no weapons of mass destruction have been found in Iraq despite the extensive US intelligence. From what you have seen, read or heard, do you believe that the United States and its allies were justified in taking military action against Iraq based on the premise that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction ? ___________________________________________________________________________ Proportions/Means: Columns Tested (5% risk level) - A/B/C/D/E/F - G/H/I - J/K * small base TOTAL BC A ALB B REGION SK/MN ONT C D QUE E ATL F 18-34 G AGE 35-54 H 55+ I Male J GENDER Female K

Some people say that while the Coalition may not have discovered weapons of mass destruction, the downfall of Saddam Hussein and the liberation of the Iraqi people is justification enough for the military action taken by the United States and its 'Coalition of the willing'. Other people say that because the United States and it's coalition allies based their case for military action against Iraq on the threat that weapons of mass destruction posed to the security of the United States, the Middle East and to the world, that not finding these weapons of mass destruction el iminates any justification for the military action.
