Reefscapewascommissionedtodesign2underwaterrestaurantsbyaprivate
investorinMyanmar.OnerestauranttobelocatedwithinatTheRoyalLake,
Yangon,andthesecondtobelocatedofftheshoreofPrinceIslandfoundsouthof
PaluBudaIslandintheAndamansea.

Onacceptanceoftheinitialconceptsprovided,Reefscapewascommissionedto
makecomparativesitestudies.Bothsiteswereinspected.Tidalandbottom
compositiondatawascollectedwhilediving,jetprobingandcoresampling.
Construction,visitation,staffingandrunningcostdatawerealsocollectedforlater
analysis.

Withaccuratedatainhand,theReefscapeteam,whileinthefield,redesignedboth
concepts.Reefscapestructurallyanalyzedsuitabledesignsolutionsandgenerated
constructioncostsbasedonlocaldatacollected.

Reefscapethenworkedwiththeclientteamtoprojectexpectedbudgets,running
costsanddeliverprobableR.O.I.figures.Reefscapeconcludedthemostfinancially
viablesitefortheclienttobuildanunderwaterrestaurantwouldbetheRoyalLake.

Overa6monthperiod,Reefscapewentontostructurallydesignedandanalyze4
underwaterrestaurantandhotelconceptsforthelakeand14conceptdesignsfor
thesea.Constructionandmaintenancemethodologieswerealsoanalysedand
optimised.

Severalunderwaterrestaurantdesignconceptshadthecapabilitytobefloatedand
movedeasily.Beingmobilereducedthesestructures'servicingcostsandenabled
themtobemovedfromlocationtolocation.

Beingabletoeasilyfloatandtowthesestructuresenablesthemtoadaptquicklyto
unfavorableeconomicorenvironmentalchange,thusreducinganinvestor'srisk
profileconsiderably.
