SWOT Analysis- Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats

Strengths
We have developed a strong and emotional storyline that appeals to both young
and older audiences.
Our narrative depicts a teenage girl who lost her boyfriend and is struggling to
come to terms with his death, this provides a deeper insight into the lives of those
who have lost a love one and how they cope with this to our target audience.
We have experience from AS Media Studies as well as creative minds to be able
to execute our production.
Our budget will be fairly low as Tell Me You Love Me dont require a lot of money
to product. This is because the school media department provides the equipment
needed.
Our cast members can act to a high standard allowing our production to look more
realistic.
All filming locations are local and easily accessible.
Our group members are aware of each others strengths and weaknesses which
will help us to achieve the best outcome.
Threats
Our actors are all A Level students and therefore are busy with other subjects.
This is a threat because we have a tight time scale to finish our production and
will need them present every time we film.
The equipment needed will be used by other students in the class this means
that it may not be available when we need it. In order to overcome this, we
need to book all equipment in advance.
Due to some scenes being filmed outside this means that we may have to
stop some scenes from being filmed as the weather could prevent our actors
Weaknesses
from acting to the best of their ability.
Our narrative deals with a real-life event such as losing a loved one, we need to
remember that some of the audience may be sensitive to this event as they may
have experienced this.
Tell Me You Love Me contains more than one actor, this means it may be difficult
to organise days to film where everyone is available.
We will be filming during winter this means it will become dark quicker in the
evenings and some of our scenes take place outside.
Each group member needs to have good time management in order to execute
our production to a high standard. At times this will be difficult when we have other
subject work to tend to.
Opportunities
We have been provided with use of the wide range of equipment at school which
is convenient for us all and beneficial financially.
Our group members are in contact with A level drama students this means that it
is likely for us to find an actor if one of our actors can no longer take part.
We have access to quality editing software on Apple Macs called Final Cut Pro
X, this software allows us to be creative in the editing process.
The media teacher and technician have years of experience in relation to filming
an editing this is beneficial as they can provide good support/ advice if needed.
