Gets Christians Hacking?

During the first weekend of November, Indigitous.org held a Global Hackathon for Christians to come together and use their digital talents and strengths to help further the Gospel
and Gods Kingdom.
We met in 28 cities around the world, from
Addis Ababa, to Rio de Janeiro, to Manila, San
Salvador, Auckland, Chiang Mai, Taipei, Boston,
the list goes on. What an amazing event, to be
#HACK team in Manilla, Philippines

unified in our mission: to build things that matter!

#HACK is about the intersection of technology, faith, and the common good. Its a place

where techy people use their God-given talents

for good on a global scale. Its positive hacking!
Hackathons are a big part of start up culture
and the beginning of many current businesses
and services you use daily like DropBox and

Twitter. Its usually a way for big companies like

Google to present their challenges where people assemble to compete to win prizes.
With the #HACK mass collaboration we sought
28 locations collaborate on a call together

to invert that. What would it look like to come

to serve together, rather than competing to
win? What if winning was serving MAF, World
Vision, Wycliffe, K-Love and other missions
agencies by solving global challenges using
technology?
It is one thing to run a Hackathon with a prize.

Its an entirely different thing to run 28, on every

continent, simultaneously and involve the biggest brands involved in Missions. Well thats
what God just did, and the results are bigger

than I can share here. Your support of us here in

Orlando is changing the future of Global misAaron working on solving two sided market problem for Indigitous

sions. What an exciting time to be serving Him!

#HACK is definitely a place where we go to work on technology,

but it is awesome when God moves in the peoples lives while
we are there. #HACK had a profound effect on David!
Aaron contracted David to build the Indigitous website 2 years
ago. He works with him each week on building out the Indigitous
platform. While David lives in Seattle, Aaron invited him to join
him and 50 other developers in Waterloo, Canada. David has a
Christian background, but has not really connected the dots to
where he has decided to follow Christ . Aaron often steps out in
faith and challenges David to make a move towards Christ in
their conversations. Aaron was surprised when David finally
Aaron and David in Waterloo

accepted the offer to join him at #HACK. Aaron said why build a
platform for 3000+ people to use to find purposebut you lack

purpose? Come see who these people are and how they use what you have made! Well David did just that. At the end of the
#HACK event in Waterloo, Canada, there was a sharing time. David was the first to stand and share. He said I am so thankful
to Aaron who has been a friend to me this whole time and encouraged me to come. Now I have been here this weekend, I have
seen people with the same skills as me who have a passion to serve God. Thats really impacted me, I want God to help me follow Him like you guys are doing. Aaron was so encouraged by what God did in Davids life through #HACK. It was his highlight
of 2016 so far! Many others experienced what David experienced. Please pray for this community and for the Davids that God
is raising up. These people are the keys to the future of missions in a digital world.
This is me at work with Aaron in the Global Cru office, where I
work on the product team using my communications skills. I am
also dicipling a few Uni students Evelyn and Kirsten. We are so
thankful to each one of our financial and prayer ministry partners.
Your partnership with us enables us to run hackathons, develop
Apps for evangelism and discipleship and work with partners as
we seek to empower 10 Million multiplying disciples to reach 5
billion lost people. You truly are what makes the ministry tick!
God works through your sacrifice in giving, and we are grateful for
the investment that you are making in us that reaches to people
like David! One of the most gratifying things about being in ministry is being a part of a team with each of you. It is such a blessing to know and feel supported by you, financially and prayerfully
in the cause of Christ! You matter very much to us!
We would love to commit to praying for you and your families as

Aaron and I work together most days.
