OUT. DUE TO MISSED INSTRUCTIONAL TIME, FREQUENT USE OF SCHOOL SUSPENSION
REDUCES STUDENTS OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN. A FINAL INTERIM REPORT OF THE
STUDY OF STATE AND LOCAL IMPLEMENTATION AND IMPACT OF THE INDIVIDUALS
WITH DISABILITIES EDUCATION ACT CONCLUDED, DROPPING OUT IS PART OF A
PROCESS OF DISENGAGEMENT AND ALIENATION, NOT AN EVENT, AND WHEN VIEWED
AS SUCH INTERVENTION SHOULD BEGIN EARLY. (SCHILLER, E. ET AL. 2003).
SUSPENSIONS ARE PART OF THAT DISENGAGEMENT.

ADDRESS THEIR INAPPROPRIATE BEHAVIORAL ACTIONS WHILE
ALLOWING THEM TO REMAIN IN A EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT!

OUR MISSION
TO OFFER COOPER STUDENTS WHO ARE ASSIGNED TO BACK ON
TRACK, AN ALTERNATIVE PROGRAM THAT PROMOTES AN
UNDERSTANDING TO STUDENTS THAT THEY PERSONALLY HAVE TO
GAIN CONTROL OF THEMSELVES IN AREAS SUCH AS ANGER
MANAGEMENT, SELF-CONTROL AND RESPONSIBILITY. IT PROVIDES
STUDENTS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP SELF-AWARENESS AND
TAKE PERSONAL ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS.

INFRACTION AND ALLOWS TIME FOR REFLECTION, PROBLEM SOLVING,
RESOLUTION PLANNING, TAKING RESPONSIBILITY AND CREATING A SUCCESS

STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED BACK INTO CLASS UNTIL THE STUDENT HAS COMPLETED THE
CURRICULUM BASED PACKET AND CREATED HIS/HER SUCCESS PLAN.
