Week # 5
Essential Question: How do organisms interact with their environment and how does the
environment limits population growth?
Objectives:
Organisms that inherit traits suitable to survive in their environment mature and reproduce
passing on their traits to offspring (Darwins Natural Selection).
Competition, Predation and Symbiosis are different interactions among living things.
The rate of births and deaths in a population affect the population growth.
Immigration (coming in) and emigration (leaving), also affects population growth.
Environmental factors can only support so many organisms, when the population exceeds
the environmental capacity organisms may die.
