Sam's Sixth Annual End of the Year Spiel

Another year has come to an end. It is hard to believe sometimes. The time slips away so quickly for me. It seems to be moving faster as I get older. From some of the complaints I overhear in class, time isn't moving fast enough! <grin>

At the end of every year I like to look back and remember the fun times I have had as well as the challenging

times. That's what

this scrap book is all about. As we have worked on it, we have noticed that the fun times far outweigh the more difficult times. I hope you feel the same way. I still manage to come here and laugh with you as we work together, struggling with things you've never tried to struggle with before. You're growing, as am I.

Dogboy all grown up and mostly shaved.

Dogboy grows Up to become successful teacher

I met a former student a few days ago and she said, "Sam, you seem so mature now." I wasn't sure if she was complementing me or picking on me. In either case it proved to me that I am growing up along the way too.

You really are a great group of people to work with. I have witnessed growth in all kinds of areas. There is still room to grow, but you are getting there. With each new success, I see confidence building.

I hope for the seniors leaving us this year that

\

you keep this confidence as you move on to "Real Life"tm. Set your goals high, never settling for the easiest route. Challenge yourself because you have proved by graduating that you can accept chaJlenges and conquer them. Good luck in your future and come back to let us know about your success.

For the students coming back next year, I really am looking forward to working with all of you again. Sure sometimes you get stuck in old patterns, but like I said before, you can grow beyond that. I hope you will want to.

It's hard to believe that next year we will be

working in Sawdon. We'll say goodbye to the cramped quarters, and heat exhaustion that we all love so much. Don't worry, though, there will be plenty of new challenges to keep us entertained.

Please have a safe summer. I'll see you in the fall.

WELCOME TO OUR SCHOOL

While other students, tired of being labeled as "losers", began contributing to the community with such projects as cleaning up the island, painting the bridge, working at the fall festival, helping the Easter Bunny, creating a new healthy alternative for Grand Ledge teens by trying to create a new skate park, etc.

Some students realized that time was running out and decided to dedicate themselves to getting their diplomas.
