1. Scope
This procedure covers the successful development of the production operation maintenance
Improvements project from feasibility to completion on site including management of the agreed project
budget within agreed time constraints to meet high quality standards
2. Purpose
To ensure effective capturing of all plant Improvements project from feasibility to completion so
as to improve plant availability & reliability..

5. Responsibility and Authority limits

5.1. Head of Production Operation.


5.1.1. Overall responsible for plant maintenance

5.2. Maintenance manager.


5.2.1. Directs the strategic maintenance in line with set business objectives

5.3. Improvements Project Manager.

5.3.1. Manage the project budget within agreed constraints, ensuring that the customer is kept
informed of the basis of all costs, contingencies and risks.
5.3.2. Ensure the project represents Value for Money
5.3.3. Ensure the project is completed within the target completion timescale agreed with the
customer.
5.3.4. Ensure that all work is carried out in a sustainable, safe and environmentally friendly
manner.
5.3.5. Ensure quality of the project is maintained.
5.3.6. Advise maintenance of the consequences of cost implications of all design and Provide
and disseminate information timely to meet the overall project programme.
6. Details of Procedure / Method

6.1. Based on the approved CAPEX & benchmark the Improvements Project Manager will
commence development of the project design in line with the project brief and will produce
sketch plans and outline proposals. Further financial checks will also be carried out at this
stage to monitor and profile costs. The Improvements Project Manager will discuss the sketch
plans and outline proposals with the maintenance in charge
6.2. Following agreement of outline plans the Improvements Project Manager will commence the
project in line with the maintenance processes & schedules& in line with Health Safety,
&environmental & regulations.
6.3. The Improvements Project Manager will monitor the progress of the works on site until
successful completion of the works. Regular progress review meetings will take place
throughout the duration of the project with the maintenance in charge, to ensure that the
awareness of the progress of the works and any problems that may arise can be resolved
quickly.
6.4. Following completion on site the Improvements Project Manager will hold a formal handover
meeting At this time the Improvement Project Manager will explain all controls and special
features of the completed project and will ensure all user manuals where available are handed
over. Quality assurance inspections of projects will be carried out after formal handover of the
project.
6.5. Production staff are encouraged to come up with innovation &improvement intiative & fill them
on form DOCUMENT NO. EAPCC/WK/ MN/F23 for approvals .
