1. Stardict or Goldendict
Stardict dictionaries can be used in both Stardict and Goldendict
Goldendict supports more dictionary formats: stardict,

Install stardict
Install from Ubuntu Software center: search stardict

install dictionaries:
For personal use: copy stardict dictionary to your Home Folder:
.stardict/dic
The location full address: /home/USER*/.stardict/dic
note: USER* here means your user name. You also need to show hidden files.

Goldendict Website

Goldendict Support of multiple dictionary file formats, namely:
Babylon .BGL files, complete with images and resources
StarDict .ifo/.dict./.idx/.syn dictionaries
Dictd .index/.dict(.dz) dictionary files
ABBYY Lingvo .dsl source files, together with abbreviations. The files can be
optionally compressed with dictzip. Dictionary resources can be packed
together into a .zip file.
ABBYY Lingvo .lsa/.dat audio archives. Those can be indexed separately, or
be referred to from .dsl files.

2. Wine (version 1.4)

A. Install wine at Ubuntu Software Center

B. Install any Windows Program softwares.

In general, programs that run in Windows XP, can be installed and run under Wine. Some
new softwares may not support. Check wine website: http://appdb.winehq.org/
It supports the following softwares:
Office 2000, Office 2003
Adobe photoshop 7, CS 2, CS 3. CS4, CS5.

3. Virtual Box
If you run Dual-boot with Windows 7, you do not need to install Virtual box.
If you only have Linux/Ubuntu installed you can install this program.
After installing Virtual box, you can install Windows XP or Windows 7 in virtual box.
Note: Windows in Virtual just like the real windows. It can also have virus.

Suggest: Disable Internet connection in Virtual Windows. Use Ubuntu for

internet, Virtual Windows only for run certain programs.

4. SSH
Connect two Ubuntu computers
To install ssh, In terminal:
sudo apt-get install ssh

Places--> connect Server

To connect to IBC server:

192.168.1.200
port: 2222
user: share
Password: share123
