Specifications Package for Terminal Automation Overview
GS 36J07B10-01E

GENERAL
A terminal/large depot (hereinafter referred to as a terminal) is a storage area where petroleum products are
received through cross-country pipelines and/or large marine vessels and are stored in tank farms. Subsequent dis-
tribution is carried out using trucks, barges, rail cars (popularly known as tank cars or wagons), and similar means.
Yokogawa has gained years of experience in the automation of such terminals/depots and has released a packaged
solution for their management called Exatas.

This GS is to highlight the features, functionality, and hardware and software requirements for realizing and imple-
menting terminal automation to meet the specific demands and needs of terminals.

FEATURES
- Integrated operation with seamless connection to ERP systems such as SAP R/3
- A “Configuration Switch” that enables individual selection of function modules
- An open database management system that is realized using Oracle RDBMS
- Multiple language support
- High reliability associated with DCS and easy engineering using templates
- User-friendly operation using Windows as the Graphic User Interface
