Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course students should be able to:

1. Apply basic fundamentals and concepts in chemical engineering in developing solutions to
chemical engineering design problems. (C5)
2. Perform preliminary design of a chemical processing plant. (CTPS)
3. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively. (CS)
4. Demonstrate the ability to work with members of the team to discuss and plan the design.

Synopsis

This course introduces students to the principles of designing chemical processes and process
equipment design. It includes the technical design of equipment units and plants using computer
software.
