ABSTRACT
I have done my training at “ATUL ENGINEERING
UDYHOG.” On the basis of what I have learnt in the
company I am here by submitting a report. The report is
about the production products of ATUL GROUP Pvt. Ltd. It
also include the study of the products like engine blocks by
cating process, coolers, pipes,pumps by different process etc.
A well planned and properly executed industrial training helps
a lot in calculating good work culture. It is also about the
company plant .The main motive of the industrial training is
to understanding the production of the company. The basic
idea of the training is to understand the production of the
products made in ATUL ENGG UDYHOG. My main focus on
the production department. My report will also be consisting
some extra relevant information, as this information is the part
of the whole procedure. I hope you will like the Report and
will appreciate its’ content and layout and will find it useful
for further study of the various manufacturing processes.
However I have tried, my best to avoid any sort of errors but
as I also belong to the Homo sapiens species so one can
except some errors or faults.
ABOUT COMPANY
Atul Group a progressive conglomerate, was founded in the
year1962 under the leadership of Shri R. S. Mittal with a
vision of serving society by supplying superior quality
products that provide high value for money for customers.
From a humble beginning as a small manufacturing set up for
manufacture of Diesel Generating Set & Diesel Pumpsets to a
spectacular growth is the saga of the Group. Since our
inception in the year 1962, the Company in a Span of 23 years
has turned into a 12-Industries-Group with continuous
multifold growth in its Sales turnover. The Company
diversified its core business of Diesel Engine, Gensets, &
Pump Sets to manufacturing and supply of Carbon Steel
Castings and Alloy Steel Castings for general engineering
purposes, PVC Pipes, Hand Pumps, Oxygen Gas, Water
Storage Tank, A. C. Pressure Pipe.

RDSO Approved Class ‘A’ Foundry

Atul Engineering Udyog is an ambitious industrial venture of
Agra. It is the oldest and core unit of famous ATUL GROUP
OF INDUSTRIES. It was established in the year 1994 and
commenced production in1985 and become the first foundry
in Agra to become ISO:9001/1994 certified w.e.f. 15/6/200.

The Company manufactures and supplies high prcision
ferrous cas.tings and grinding media of following typer and
orange:
Iron and Alloy Steel Castings upto 200 Kg.
Side Buffer Arrangement with face plate riveted (1000 KGM
&KGM) Loco Side Buffer (BG) Min. Assembly
Hyper steel and High Chrome steel grinding media balls.

MARKET POTENTIAL
The units engaged in the manufacturing of Chemical,
Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, Aircraft Industries and
Dairy Equipment require a number of special castings such as
Stainless Steel Castings in different sizes and shapes. In
addition, the requirement of tool steels has gone on increasing
with the pace of industrial development. The numbers of units
engaged in the Steel Castings by Investment process are
negligible. A few which are producing their castings by
conventional type of casting process are not of the standards
and specifications with respect to chemical composition of
steel. In view of the above, there is immense scope for setting
up of such units in the Small Scale Sector with induction
melting and quality control facilities due to latest industrial
policy declared by the Government, so as to cater to the needs
of various industries established in the country and overseas.
CERTIFICATIONS

ATUL’ Engines are tested for compliance to mass emission
and smoke limits by the prestigious certifying authority –
ARAI (The Automotive Research Association of India) and
comply with the prescribed emission limits.

‘Atul’ products are licensed for the use of ‘ISI’ Standard
Mark by Bureau of Indian Standards. All our manufacturing
units have been granted BIS Licnese for use of ‘ISI’
Standard mark on articles manufactured in accordance to
the related Indian Standrads.

‘Atul’ is well equipped to meet the most stringent norms of
the industry. Atul Diesel Engines and Generators are eco-
friendly and meet the CPCB (CENTRAL POLLUTION
CONTROL BOARD) norms.
Our Group units manufacturing capacity has been assessed
by the Department of MSME and NSIC (The National
Small Industries Corporation Ltd.) has issued us the
Certification for our licensed capacity of our various
products.

We also have a ‘CE’ (Europe Conformity) Certification and
we are the first company in India to get this Certification
for Pipes. This Certification is awarded from Italy and
proves that we are a quality conscious manufacturer.

erection of submersible borehole pumps up to depth of 1000
feet. More than 2,00,000 successful installations have taken
place across the globe.

PUMPS
ATUL ENGINEERING UDYOG was incorporated in
the year 1962. Within a short span of the time
company becomes one of the leading
manufacturer & exporter of pumps, diesel engine
pumps, centrifugal pumps, submersible pumps,
monoblock pumps, centrifugal pumps, sewage
pumps, self priming pumps & customized pumps
in India.
 Each component to the pump is subjected to rigorous
inspection at various stage of manufacture and assembly
resulting in a high quality standard of the pump.
WATER STORAGE TANK
ATUL PREMIUM WATER STORAGE TANKS are
manufactured on ‘Bi-axial Three Arm Rotational Moulding
Machine’, latest Technology which provides uniform wall
thickness, strength and smooth finish. Atul Tanks are
manufactured from Linear Low Density Poly Ethylene
(LLDPE) as per the latest BIS specifications.

COOLERS

This widely used ABS / PP plastic cooler is being
manufactured by lot of companies and selling in Indian
market. Their advantage is that it is plastic and does not get
rusted. But their main disadvantage is they don’t have exhaust
fan. Instead they have a special kit which makes cooling
performance low in comparison to metal coolers. The cooler
body of plastic coolers is also not as strong so as to sustain for
long.

CASTING
Casting is a manufacturing process in which a liquid material
is usually poured into a mould, which contains a hollow
cavity of the desired shape, and then allowed to solidify. The
solidified part is also known as a casting, which is ejected or
broken out of the mould to complete the process.

Baling and strapping equipment, Cameras, Construction
hardware and equipment, Dentistry and dental tools,
Prosthetics, Computer hardware, Electrical equipment, and
radar.
 Guns and armament, Hand tools, Machine tool components,
Aircraft engines, air frames, fuel systems, Aerospace,
missiles, ground support systems.
 Material handling equipment, Oil well drilling and auxiliary
equipment, Components for compressor and pneumatic
equipment.
 Sports gear and recreational equipment, Textile machinery
parts, Valves and flow control equipment, Components for
consumer durables.

Advantages
 Excellent details along with close tolerances (+0.003 or -0.003
mm per mm) are obtainable.
 Excellent surface finish is a major advantage of this process
(1500-2250 miro-mm root mean square).
 This is a high precision casting technique, hence, near net
shapes; very near to the finished component is produced.
 There are no metallurgical limitations for investment casting.
Difficult to machine metals are best shaped by this process.
 The process is extremely versatile; almost any intricate
shapes, thin walls(as thin as 0.75mm) and tiny delicate
components can be cast.

Disadvantages
 Pattern is expendable. Size limitation of components to be
cast.
 Process is relatively slow. Use of core make the processmore
difficult.

MOULDING
 Moulding is the process of manufacturing by shaping
liquid or pliable raw material using a rigid frame called a
mould or matrix. This itself may have been made using a
pattern or model of the final object.

MACHINING

 Machining is the broad term used to describe removal of
material from a workpiece, it covers several processes, which
we usually divide into the following categories:Cutting,
generally involving single-point or multipoint cutting tools,
each with a clearly defined geometry.
 Abrasive processes, such as grinding.
 Nontraditional machining processes, utilizing electrical,
chemical, and optimal sources of energy.

FORGING

 Forging is a manufacturing process involving the
shaping of metal using localized compressive forces. The
blows are delivered with a hammer (often a power hammer)
or a die.

LATEST RESEARCH

 Launched Submersible Pumps in oil field

As ‘Atulgroup’ is already in Agricultural industry, we have
already launched Submersible Pumps in oil field.
The Group is soon entering into the production of Monobloc
Pumps and Submersible Pumps in water field for our valuable
customers.

 LLDPE Battery Operated Rickshaws

Atulgroup has launched new LLDPE Battery operated
rickshaws.

Successful trails have been made under the SUDA Project
which was inaugurated by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar
Pradesh Sh. Akhilesh Yadav Ji. Soon, the commercial
production will start.

 Introduced New Water Tanks

To upgrade our rotomoulding sector, Atulgroup has introduced
water tanks in the market with a totally innovating design and
features like threads lids, stronger body and heavier weight to
complete with Blow Moulding Tanks which are actually not
suitable for the purpose of water tanks and are only suitable
for small bottles and contains.
