THE CLASSIC IMAGE PROCESSING AND INTERPRETATION THEORY
(THE CLIPAI THEORY)

SUMMARY
The CLIPAI Theory states that images (spatial or non-spatial, digital or non-digital) are essentially
“digital” numbers arranged in rows and columns representing the frame and pattern of existence (that
is spectral, energy or radiation reflectance, transmission or emittance) of the image object within its
specific electromagnetic spectrum of existence as captured or recorded by either a natural device e.g.
human eyes or artificial systems e.g. cameras and remote sensors. The theory further asserts that image
or photo interpretation is simply the applications of computational models and/or algorithms to the
matrix or matrices of numbers (usually between 0 and 255) representing the image object(s) in order to
better understand the image data and/or its inherent compositions to achieve set objective(s). And since
each spectrum of electromagnetic radiation is measured as continuous “strands” of waves or energy
usually grouped (for scientific analytic and understanding reasons) into portable ranges usually referred
to as bands with potential unique name or identifiers, for example, the visible (to human eyes)
spectrum of electromagnetic radiation is grouped into three (3) ranges of wavelengths or energies
technically identified as Red, Green and Blue bands, a combination of reflectance, emitance and
transmission of energies or radiation between these three bands is what gives colours and patterns to
everything visible to human eyes. This same principle of spectral groupings also applies across all
spectrum of the electromagnetic radiation. The CLIPAI Theory is applicable in modern
psychosociology and in the understanding of human chemistry or in analyzing natural territorial human
spectral/energy distribution particularly useful in tackling advanced human developmental challenges.
