King turns one

February was an important
month for Burger King as the
popular hamburger chain ob-
served its first anniversary of the
Martintar, Nadi restaurant which
is the first domestic outlet for Fiji.
Burger King started the Fiji
operations with its Airside out-
let which opened up for business
at the Nadi International Airport
departures lounge on Monday,
November 16, 2015 but that res-
taurant is only accessible to peo-
ple flying out of the country.
In a recent interview, Burger
King general manager Akash
Narsey shared his thoughts on the
anniversary and plans ahead for
the Fiji operations with his public
relations and marketing team.
We are happy to have com-
pleted our first year of BURGER
KING operations in Fiji and this
goes for both our Airside and
Martintar outlets, Narsey said.
As we are still very much in
the beginning of our journey and
are excited with our future here in
Fiji, we have a young and dedi-
cated team which is eager to grow
the business and take it to even
greater heights, Narsey added.
CHALLENGES
Operating any new business
has its various challenges while
running an international fast
food franchise such as BURGER
KING has even more challenges!
Being new in the business, we
had to make many assumptions of
how our business would run and
we had to do a lot of learning on
the job once we opened our Air-
side restaurant.
As we learnt, we started to
get a better understanding on
what our customers want and we
look forward to fine tuning our
business to be the best fast-food
restaurant here in Fiji.
FUTURE
The response that we have
received so far since our open-
ing has been very positive which
has spurred us on to open more
sites in future including another
BURGER KING restaurant at the
airport which will be accessible
to the general public.
We are also planning to open
three new restaurants, one at the
Nadi International Airport that
will be accessible to the general
public and two in the greater
Suva area by the end of 2017,
Mr Narsey informed.
While running an interna-
tional franchise in a small island
nation has its own challenges,
the future of Burger King in Fiji
looks bright for now and for the
future.

Prouds Nadi leads by example for town surveliance

The team at Prouds care for the safety and security of its custom-
ers and the general public at large says executive director Bhupendra
Patel.
He said to ensure that the bridge-end of Nadi town is monitored at
all times, the company has made significant investments by installing
high resolution CCTV cameras outside the Prouds complex.
We have taken note of the calls made by our police commissioner
and various business stakeholders like the Nadi Town Council and
Nadi Chamber of Commerce, Mr Patel said.
Mr Patel said while Prouds is one of the first to act upon the request,
he hopes other business houses will follow suit to contribute towards
the general safety and security of Nadi which is the tourism capital of
Fiji.

Suva staff recognised for long service

Five long-serving staff members of Motibhai Group based in Suva
were recognised for their long service, hard work and dedication at a
morning tea function recently.
The five are part of a total of fourty-eight staff members from
around the country that have served the group diligently for a number
of years and were recognised accordingly.
While handing over certificates and Prouds gift vouchers to the
long-serving staff members, Motibhai Group director Rajesh Patel
who is based in Suva said it was that time of the year when staff mem-
bers are formally recognised for their long service which goes to show
their loyalty and confidence in the company all in the presence of their
respective managers as well.
There are a number of staff members who have received these
awards even after their official retirement age, Mr Patel said.
This means our company recognises and values each and every
member of the team and we will keep working as one big family to
grow together.
