SUPPORT OUR CAMPAIGNS

We campaign on critical issues, we operate projects that benefit communities directly and we seek partnerships that create wider involvement so that we can achieve meaningful change for migrant workers and their families. Everything we do is geared toward empowering people and providing support where it is needed most. Here are three ways that you can help. Campaigns and advocacy are central to our work. We capture the attention of policy makers and the wider public with the true stories that need to be told. Whether addressing the issues behind undocumented migrants, migrant domestic workers, labour laws or human rights issues our campaigns are simple, impactful and targeted towards achieving positive change for migrant workers. For example, our campaign to protect the rights of migrant domestic workers seeks to establish the same working conditions for them as for any other workers in Greece.

PARTICIPATE IN OUR PROJECTS
We don’t just campaign on these issues, we operate projects that have a sustained impact in the community. That means responding to meet the need as it arises and then building long lasting projects that provide the solution for the longer term. We established the Munting Nayon day care centre for children in 1994 and it still continues to meet a real need in the community. Also, we paved the way for the establishment of a Philippine Women’s Cooperative, DIWATA, which later became independent.

JOIN OUR NETWORK
Here in Greece and all around the world there are individuals and organisations who are pursuing similar objectives with ceaseless energy and commitment. There are many more whose contributions, however small, make them a crucial part of our network. Whether through a collaboration with other organisations in Greece, such as the Alliance for Migrants’ Rights or through community events organised by our culture committee, we are stronger when we’re together and that’s why we actively cultivate wider contacts, building powerful coalitions of like minded people working towards a common outcome.

KASAPI Hellas is a response to a basic need that exists in our society. We will continue to improve the lives of Philippine migrant workers both on an individual and a collective level, intervening wherever possible to achieve a more positive outcome for all.

There are injustices in our society that are having a disproportionately negative impact on the lives of migrant workers. That’s why we established KASAPI Hellas in 1986. We want to bring about a fairer society in Greece where migrant workers are welcomed, treated equally and with respect.
