There are many different types of audio products. This activity is designed to help you get familiar with
all the different styles and purposes.
Find some examples of audio products of the types listed below. Try to find as wide a variety of
different audio products as you can. For each product you find, complete the table below.

Further activity
1 Pick a couple of the products and discuss with a classmate how well each product meets its
purpose. For example, what features does it have that help it advertise, entertain, amuse, give
information or whatever it is supposed to do?
2 Discuss how well each product matches the audience it is targeted at. Some audio products may
not be targeted at a specific group but many will be.

3 Discuss with your classmates the strengths and weaknesses of one of the audio products in your
list above. For example, how could it be improved? What did you like about it? You need to try to
identify specific things rather than just making general comments.
