4tablespoonsofplain(Greek)yogurt
3tablespoonsofwhitevinegar TasteofBeirut
1headofgarlic,crushed
2tablespoonsofoliveoil TheFoodBlog
1to1.5teaspoonsofsalt(ortotaste)
teaspoonofgroundoregano(orthyme) TuzekmekTurkishFoodBlog
1teaspoonofpaprika
teaspoonofgingerpowder(optional)
Apinchofnutmegpowder

Instructions
1.Rinsethebonelesschickenbreastswithfreshcoldwaterthencuthorizontallyinto
thinnercutsofaboutinch(eachbreastcouldpossiblybesplitinto2slices
dependingonthickness).
2.Mixallingredientsinablender,addtoabowlandmixwellwiththechicken,cover
andletmarinateinthefridgeovernight.
3.Whenready,grillthemarinatedchickenusingapanini/GeorgeFormangrillfor
about15minutesonmediumheat.YoucanalsocookthechickenonaBBQgrillif
soyouwish.
4.Oncecooked,shredthechickenthinlyasinthephotoandit'snowreadytobe
wrappedintoaShawarmaSandwich.Spreadthechickenshredsalongthediameter
ofapitabread,spreadabitofLebaneseGarlicpaste,addsomesaltycucumber
pickles,someFrenchfries,andsomegrilledtomatoes,rollandenjoy.

Notes
Trymarinatingamixof75%chickenbreastand25%skinlessbonelesschickenthighs.
Thefatinthethighsgivesthechickenanicekickwhengrilled.Addgrilledtomatoesin
thesandwichinsteadofrawtomatoesSomerestaurantsaddfrenchfriesinthe
sandwich,othersaddacabbage/mayosaladtothesandwich.Bakingorbroilinginthe
ovenwillridthechickenofitsjuiceandmustbeavoidedifpossible.Wefoundthat
usingapaninigrillcooksfasterandkeepsthemoistureinsidethechickenYoucanfind
saltymiddleeasterncucumberpicklesfromMiddleEasterngrocerystores.
