Carburetor Brosol 2E7 - Adjustments While not manufacture more cars with carbure
tor, we will describe how to proceed in this matter fits one of the best carbure
tors used in domestic cars, like Santana, Monza, Uno, etc.. This is the model of
the 2E7 Brosol. The data presented here refer to the carburetor used Volkswagen
in line with the code 026 129 015.1 (petrol) and 026 129015.3 (alcohol). The pr
ocess of disassembly, assembly and adjustments are the same for all carbs 2E7 in
cluding those of the other lines. What changes is the data as calibration values
and settings, which should be found a table. In the figure we have a 3E7 carbur
etor with idle control electronics (done through a command control unit). The ba
sic procedures for repair are the same carbs 2E7 except idle, because the system
is controlled electronically.

Before starting the disassembly procedures, adjustment and assembly will pass th
e measures of a tool you will use to measure the height of the float. It is easy
to manufacture and very helpful.
Below the drawing tool.
- Tool for adjusting the height of float carburetors in 2E7. The thickness of th
e plate should be 2 mm and the recommended material is steel SAE 1030. You can u
se other materials like aluminum. The tool can not contain burrs. Note: All amou
nts are in millimeters.
The following is a breakdown of components:
On the cover of the carburetor, you will find the top three calibers. What has a
slot is the size fuel / air from idling. What is positioned in the middle is th
e size of air spray principal of the first stage and the other the size of the a
ir spray's main second stage.€Only the fuel gauge / air idle speed may be remov
ed from the cap by a screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the groove of calibra
tor.
At the bottom of the lid you will find two sizes (1 and 2) and two tubes (3). Th
e caliber is a side choke butterfly is the the main gauge of the spray. Size 2 i
s the sprayer's main second stage. The two tubes (3) are the fishermen of the sy
stem and additional transition of the second body. Only two gauges should be rem
oved for cleaning. The tubes should be cleaned in the very cover of the carburet
or.
:: Removing the carburetor Install the carburetor on a suitable medium or a piec
e of wood in a rectangular shape so as not to let the throttle butterfly shaft r
ests against the bench. This prevents warping of the shaft. Remove the gauge and
the idle screws on the cover (there are five). Check the table if the sizes are
correct. If they are incorrect should be replaced. Note: The screws different.
cover have lengths
Secure the lid carefully in a vice and remove the shaft of the buoy with a bag-p
ins. Remove the float valve and the stylus. Some models of carburetor, the valve
seat stylus is pressed on the cap and screw it on other models. Note: The bag-p
ins must have a diameter of 2mm and can be made of steel SAE 1045. Very careful
not to break the axle bearing of the buoy. Look at the picture and watch the rig
ht side to push the shaft.
Clean the pipes with compressed air fishermen and observe whether their aeration
holes (1) are clear. Use only compressed air to clean the pipes and ducts built
into the carburetor. Never insert anything into hurricanes in order not to incr
ease the diameter. If you are too clogged and the air is not sufficient to recom
mend a chemical bath in the lid and use the ultrasound equipment.
Remove the nozzles of the first and second body holding the lid of the carbureto
r in a vise. Use one or two screwdrivers to make a lever. Wipe diffusers with ga
soline or similar and give a jet of compressed air in its internal passages. Not
e: Both broadcasters have a gasket itself. The junta, in turn, has the correct s
ide for mounting. Therefore, the assembly put the joint, the diffuser and then l
ock the diffuser, without changing their original positions in order not to obst
ruct the passage of the mixture.
Remove the existing filter in the fuel inlet pipe, with the aid of a screwdriver
or a fine tip with screw thread for wood. This filter has a conical shape and i
s basically a screen which prevents impurities from reaching the valve thick sty
lus, causing problems in fuel overflow or blockage. Use compressed air to clean
the fuel input channel.
Remove support throttle, releasing three screws from the bracket. Watch out for
the housing of the throttle shaft, where a spring will bounce at the time of rem
oval. Be very careful not to lose it. This spring has a calibration and should n
ot be replaced by any other.
Remove the throttle pneumatic device as shown alongside. Use a bag-pin for this
purpose. When trying to grab the pin elastic pneumatic device take great care no
t to damage or enlarge the holes, otherwise the pin come off very easily. The di
ameter of the bag-pins must Fabricate steel SAE 1045. be 2.5 mm.
Carefully remove the injector tube (similar to a cable umbrellas). Remove the el
ectromagnetic valve system of rapid acceleration (verfigura the side). Note: Som
e models do not have this valve. It serves to block passage of fuel when the ign
ition is turned off.
Remove the accelerator pump by loosening the four screws. Examine components, ma
inly the diaphragm as dryness or holes. Replace it if necessary. Make sure the h
ole in the chamber, for the return of fuel to the tank is clear. Clean all the c
hannels with compressed air. The acceleration pump comprises a diaphragm, a retu
rn spring and a rubber valve in the shape of umbrellas.
Note 1: When installing the pump acceleration, position the lever about one thir
d of its total travel and tighten the screws to prevent deformation of the diaph
ragm. Note 2: If you are too clogged and the air is not clean enough to use chem
ical bath and ultrasound. Another alternative and particles using a. We recommen
d using the CAR-80. For details about this product, please contact us to pass th
e technical and purchasing.
Remove the valve top. Remove your diaphragm and clean their channels with compre
ssed air.€Remove the pneumatic positioner of the second stage. To do this, drop
the rod positioned with the help of a screwdriver. Remove the complete assembly
by unscrewing the two screws. Check with a vacuum pump (apply 350mmHg) possible
leaks in the pneumatic positioner. If so, replace the component.
:: Setting the carburetor on the bench to check the height of the float, put the
lid of the carburetor slightly tilted (approximately 30 in the vertical plane)
so that the float valve just touch the stylus, but without it, push. Use the cal
iber of construction itself and make sure the size is within the prescribed valu
e (26.5 to 28.5 mm). If necessary, replace the valve needle and stylet. If the d
imensions are still out of specification, replace the float. Check also the poss
ibility of being headquartered outside of their normal height.
Fill the bowl of the carburetor and crank the handle until fuel begins to be inj
ected. The aim of the jet should be directed at the crack of the throttle butter
fly. If you are out of specification, adjust the positioning of the gun with pli
ers, being careful not to break it. With the lid on the carburetor, the jet shou
ld hit the outside face of the diffuser.
Check that the injection volume is adequate. For this, you should use a graduate
d burette and one funnel, as shown alongside. Loosen all the adjusting screw rot
ation. Crank shaft of the butterfly throttle until the end of your course 10 tim
es, with the tank full.
The volume injected must be between 16-20 cm3. Example for volume and 1.6 to 2.0
cm3 per hit.
If the injected value is not specified, the carburetor must be adjusted put the
screwdriver into the cam adjustment screw (picture beside) Egira the cam in one
direction or the other until the volume is within the specified. Note: If the va
lue is not obtained, check the system as fast acceleration and plugging or damag
ed diaphragm.
To adjust the slack "Y" and "Z" butterfly fold acceleration of the second stage
with the help of pliers, the ears of the metal lever. The clearance "Y" should b
e between 0.5 to 1.1 mm, while the slack "Z" should be between 0.4 to 0.7 mm (se
e figure opposite). By folding these ears, take great care not to break them. Th
is system, when she closed the throttle, the action of a force, whose purpose is
to prevent depression in her cause openings to bring damage to the engine opera
ting at idle.
Check the perfect functioning of the pneumatic positioner of the second stage. T
o do this, disconnect the hose from depression this device. Install a vacuum pum
p in the hose and apply a vacuum of 350 mmHg. Open the throttle to accelerate th
e first stage. When reaching a certain angle in the first butterfly stage, the a
xis of the second butterfly stage will start to open. With the throttle fully op
en the first stage, the second must also be fully opened. If not, make sure the
hose is not leaking.
To adjust the butterfly throttle, disconnect the hose from the pneumatic device
for depression throttle. Operate the throttle lever so that the throttle complet
ely close. Apply a vacuum at the hose pneumatic device with a vacuum pump (350 m
mHg). The butterfly should open creating a gap of 3.5 mm in carbs petrol and 4.0
mm in carbs alcohol. To verify this opening, using drills with diameters should
be equal to the clearances specified.
If the gap found in the butterfly throttle is different from that specified no n
eed to adjust. Close the butterfly drowned completely and apply a depression of
350 mmHg in pneumatic device. With the aid of a screwdriver, turn the adjustment
screw on one side or another to be able to correct the gap. Check with the bit
if the value is specified. Check the pneumatic device for leaks.
We will now check the positive opening of the throttle acceleration of the first
stage with a butterfly throttle closed. With the carburetor mounted, fully clos
e the butterfly throttle. Thus the throttle acceleration from the first stage sh
ould open a small angle. Measure this gap with the aid of a drill. For carbs alc
ohol that opening up the slack should be between 1 and 1.05 mm. Carburetors for
gasoline, this gap should be between 0.65 to 0.8 mm (see figure opposite).
If the value of the positive opening is not as specified, adjust it using the sc
rew. This bolt is embedded within a plastic cover with a seal and is with its en
d resting on the butterfly throttle lever,€are interconnected to the throttle a
cceleration. Remove the seal and adjust the positive opening.
:: Setting the carburetor to the engine after all adjustments made on the counte
rtop, install the carburetor on the engine. Run the engine and wait for the heat
ing phase until the second drive of the electric-fan cooling system. Make sure t
hat the throttle butterfly is not thrown. Set the rotation to 950-1050 for engin
es alcohol and 900-1000 for the gasoline through the adjustment screw rpm 1 (see
figure beside). Use a tachometer (tachometer) for this purpose.
Adjust the level of CO (carbon monoxide) through the screw used for mixing two (
see figure opposite). The rate of CO should be 3,5 to 4,5% for engines alcohol a
nd 3-4% for gasoline engines. For this setting, use a gas analyzer. While adjust
ing the CO, make sure that the crankcase breather is disconnected.
For optimum adjustment of the carburetor, it is necessary that the other engine
systems that influence its operation is perfectly in order, as::: Ignition Syste
m - Ropes - Sails - Coil - Distributor - Adjustment of the initial ignition.
:: Cooling system - proper operating temperature: Distribution mechanics - Regul
ating Valve - Timing belt sprocket. Besides all the items shown above, is of par
amount importance that the fuel used is of good quality.
