Teaching Philosophy

My passion for teaching stems from my love and admiration of children as

unique individuals. As a teacher I take it upon myself to teach the whole child, not
just the required curriculum. My students learn in an environment that is tolerant
and accepting, built around meaningful relationships, and carefully planned learning
experiences. I make differentiated instruction a main focus because I never want to
negatively affect the growth of my students by underestimating their potential, or
believing they are not learning at a "normal" rate. I involve families in my classroom
frequently, and view them as a partner in their child's learning rather than a
bystander. I am and will always be that teacher that seeks to improve myself as a
professional, and learn new practices and strategies. Above all, my goal as a
teacher is to foster resilience and champion my students to be the absolute best
they can be.
