Excerpt from Pir Shabda Khans February 2017 Message

Pir Shabda tells us about arriving Delhi . . .

to help facilitate and participate in the Universal Sufi Council Pilgrimage, with distinguished participants from all
over the world. Hosted by Murshid Karimbakhsh, 95 year old leader from the Sufi Movement, former Dutch
Finance Minister and head of the IMG. The head Imam of India, Dr Umer Illaysi, joined us, as did Lungelwa,
a wonderful light of a being, a Reverend and Chancellor and the wife of the Archbishop of Capetown, South
Africa. The deep and refined Mevlevi Sheikha Nur Artiran joined us from Istanbul along with 3 lovely senior
mureeds. Sufi Sheikhs from Ajmer, Bangladesh, Sheikh Tijani from Ghana, Rabbi Gabriel a Sephardic Rabbi from
France, Ahamed Jonathan Granoff, a very dear friend, disciple of Guru Bawa Muhaiyaddeen, now centered at the
UN as the head of the Global Security Institute to end nuclear weapons worldwide. Leaders from Kirpal Singh
lineage, Kriya Yoga, as well as leaders from Brahma Kumaris participated. Leaders from the Temple of
Understanding as well as the Parliament of World Religions also joined.

With the wish of promoting human values beyond race, gender, religion and wealth we came up with the
following Peace Pilgrims Pledge which I invite you to join in.

The Peace Pilgrims Pledge to Live

Loving- Kindness and Compassion

The journey of life is a pilgrimage; beautiful qualities are a compass.

Intending to advance PEACE and HARMONY in our personal lives and in the world, we affirm the

We commit to treat all lives with LOVING-KINDNESS and COMPASSION.

We reject the distortions of religious, national, and racial prejudice, which are used to violate the Golden
Rule to treat others as we wish to be treated.

We respect the diversity of ways people pursue their individual destinies.

We challenge the misuse of beliefs, rites, rituals, practices, philosophies, and traditions used to degrade
anyone, or which lead to violence. We affirm the necessity of bringing LOVING-KINDNESS and
COMPASSION into action.

Through such actions we seek to improve the relationships of people - one nation to another, one religion
to another, one belief system to another, one gender to another, and one race to another.

We call upon all people of good will to join this pledge:

We pledge that in all we intend, think, and do, we shall strive to bring LOVING-KINDNESS and
COMPASSION into action and into the lives of all we meet.

Drink with the Beloved

Drink the wine down, tip the glass La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah
Drink with the Beloved La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah
Take this breath like its your last Go here to hear
Drink with the Beloved So listen to the inner call Murshid Allaudins
Were a caravan you see Drink with the Beloved rendition of this
Moving towards our destiny The tavern masters rise and fall song.
You must find the eyes to see Drink with the Beloved
Drink with the Beloved Watch the drunkards reel and spin
Feel the presence from within
La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah Toasting to the dearest friends
La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah Drink with the Beloved

Go to the East, go to the West La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah

Drink with the Beloved La illaha illallah, La illaha illallah
You cant escape this birth and death
Drink with the Beloved Were a caravan you see
Drink the cup of loving down Moving towards our destiny
This is truly drink and drown You must find the eyes to see

Murshida Darvesha on Dances of Universal Peace

Coming Home

As I slowly got an inkling of what Sufi Inayat Khan calls the Inner Life, I felt probably what all those feel who have
been redeemed, born again, or converted. Whether or not I had found THE Secret of Life, I for sure had found the
secret of MY life.

Somewhere along the way I found the Dances and they became for me one vehicle to ride into the Inner life...and
then eventually a platform from which to teach this discovery. The Dances call us home to the body, the senses and the
breath. Coming to our senses and being present in the body may be impossible for most of us to sustain, but it can
remain as a background aspiration. For myself, I only have glimpsesmoments. But it is here that I have learned
about completion and satisfactoriness, peace and ecstasy. It is here where Ive reconnected with this aliveness that I
am, and where Ive come to directly experience Life.this complex system that both sustains us and of which we are.

When we can relax into this belonging, we intuitively know and understand lifes we must and want
to behave. When we connect with our largest context, we begin to cooperate and know to water the root.

We receive the air that we breathe, the water we drink and the food that we eat. This is what we depend on, and that
which we are. Everything matters. Everything is us. The more we are in touch with ourselves the more we will
understand the natural morality that we are born into. The more ecstasy and peace we feel the more we will know what
to do and how to do it in a good way. The Dances are not an end; they are a method that helps us discover the Inner
Life. And once we know ourselves as Life itself, we spontaneously begin to cooperate and co-create with Life, uniting
in perfect being.
