Introduction :

I read in the DAV Higher Secondary School. It is not a Government School. It gets aid from the
Government.

Its situation and Building :

Our school is built in it open. It is far away from the dust, noise and smoke of the city. Its building is
very grand. It has verandahs on both the sides of class-room. There are shady trees near the
verandahs. The burning heat of summer, bitter cold of winter and the heavy rains of the rainy season
cannot trouble us.

Gardens and grassy Lawns :

Near the gate there are two small gardens in which there are grassy lawns, flower beds, fruits trees
and a beautiful fountain. How nice it is to sit on the grassy lawns in summer evening! We enjoy the
sweet smell of flowers and the dance of beautiful butterflies.

Laboratories and Library :

Our school has two science labs, a big library and a reading room. The library is full of books on all
subjects. Every student can borrow books from the library. Besides these, there are about forty
class-rooms, principals office and a clerks office.

Teachers :
There are fifty teachers in the school. They are all highly qualified. They all work hard in teaching us.
They help the students in every way possible. They are their true friends and guides. Our results are
the best not only in the city but in the district also. All the teachers are sympathetic and kind. They
look after our studies. They also take care of our healthy and character.

The Principal :
The Principal of our school is and old hand. He is very particular about discipline. He keeps the
school compound clean and tidy. He is a man of character. He has own the hearts of his students.
He himself is punctual. So he expects punctuality from hits teachers and students. He is an ideal for
the members of his staff. He does not allow students to attend school in dirty clothes. His morning
talks, after the school prayer, are very impressive He believes in action.

He Hates Idle Talks :

We are taught honesty, industry and truthfulness by him. Hence our school students are obedient,
well behaved and mannerly.

Games, Debates and N.C.C. :

The best thing in the school is the arrangement of games, debates and scouting. Every student has
to take part on debates every Saturday. He has to attend the playground three times a week. I am
glad to say that our school team is famous in the district for hockey and cricket. Our scouts get
training in band and first-aid. There are two NCC units attached to the school. Every year sixty
students get Military training.

Conclusion :
It is the best of all schools. The school is pound of its good students and the students are proud of
their good school. I love it dearly.

Y PET ANIMAL

I am fond of pets. I have a pet dog. I call it Jim. It is two years old. It is very beautiful to look at. It is
smart and active. It runs at an incredible speed. Its body is covered with a soft fur. It has a small tail
and long ears.
I have in it a loving and faithful companion. It accompanies me when I go out for a walk. It begins to
wag its tail when it sees me. It licks my feet. I like to play with it. I throw a ball. It runs after it and
brings it back holding it in its mouth. It can swim. It answers to its name. It is very intelligent. It
carries my messages to my friends. It runs after cats and barks at strangers and other dogs. It plays
with small children and seems to like their company.
At times, I go hunting. It goes with me. It helps me track the game. It runs after hares, foxes, jackals
and other small animals and overtakes them. At night, it guards the house. It is very sensitive to
sound. At the slightest sound, it gets startled and begins to bark. A thief dare not come near our
house. It has a very strong instinct.
Once a fire broke out in our house at midnight. It saw the danger we were in. It pulled my quilt and
woke me up. It led me to the kitchen. To my great horror, I found that a heap of dry fuel lying there
was all ablaze and the flames were rising to the ceiling, at once, roused from sleep other members
of the house. In a few minutes, the fire was brought under control. This act of Jim endeared it to us
all the more.
I take great care of it. I bathe it with soap every-day. I feed it on milk and bread. Occasionally I give it
flesh and bones, too. It is treated as a member of the family. It is loved and liked by every member of
the house. Visitors who come to the house also like it.
Several offers have been made to me but I am not going to part with it for any price. Separation from
it is out of the question. It responds to my love. It is always by my side. It is a rare animal. Its fidelity
is unquestionable. It is devoted to me.

MY MOTHER

When you knew how to speak, what was your first word ? It is (Mom). We have grown up in the
arms of our mothers. We have grown up in the great love of our mothers. No one loves us like our
mothers, no one is willing to sacrifice everything for us like our mothers. If someone asks you Who
is the best woman in your life ?, I bet you will say it is your mother. And if someone asks me like
that, my answer also is my mother.
With me, my mother is the best woman in the world. No one can replace her in my heart. I admire
my mother, I don't know why she is always busy with daily chores, taking care of my family but she
never say she is tired.
Every day, she is the first person in my family, who wakes up very early. Then, she makes breakfast
for my family. When my father goes to work, I go to school, my mother stays home and does all the
daily chores. When my father and I come home, there is always a delicious dinner, which is waiting
for us. After the dinner, my mom washes the dishes. Sometimes, I ask her to help, but she says: It
is fine, you should go upstairs and do your homework. Mom always wake up very early, and Mom is
the last person can take a break after a busy day. I realize that without my Mom, my father and I
cannot have the clean house, the delicious meal and the clothes which always iron straight. Mom
gives me and my father all her love.
She loves us more than herself. Her love for us is great like the ocean, the universe and nothing can
replace it. She is not only my mom, she is also my friends, my big sister, who I can share all my
problems and stories in life with. When I am sad, happy or stressful, Mom is always by my side and
comfort me. Sometimes, I get angry with my mom because she remind me too much things,
especially they are all things I know. Then, I realize that she just wants me- her son to be good.
Making my mother cry is the worst thing, but I did. I'm a boy, and playing games is the most favorite
things to do of boys. I played games everyday. Anytime, when I had free time, I played games, when
I came home from school, I played games . I played until midnight, I played until I was tired and
slept on my desk. My mother knew it and she always told me to stop playing and focus on studying.
I said yes to make her feel please and then I continued to play. When you play games, you just
focus on that, you forget to study, that were what happened to me. My mother didn't know anything
until my school had a parents conference. She was shocked when she saw my report. My grade
was going down. She asked me why my grade went down, I was quiet and looked at her. It seemed
like my mother knew the reason why. She was quiet, stared at me and sigh.
Suddenly, I saw tears from her eyes, she cried. She told me many times that I should not play
games too much, I needed to focus on studying, but I ignore her advice. When she cried, I felt so
sorry and guilty. I wasn't brave enough to looked at her. Then I came to her slowly, hugged her and
said: I was sorry, mom. I knew that I had made a big mistake. I felt so sorry. Mom, please forgive
me. I promised that I wouldn't do this again. I was so sorry. I made you cry. And she hugged me
tight, she whispered: How couldn't I forgive you ? I was just a little disappointed, but I knew, you
would know how to fix your mistake, I love you. I cried after she said that, just a bit, but I did cry.
Mom, you gave me everything but you never ask me to pay back. You are the best, the greatest
woman in this world and in my heart. I love you forever. I am happy when I have you by my side to
take care of me, to protect me and to give me your love. I am happy when I am your son. In the
future. I will be an successful adult in life and I can take care of myself. But in my mother's eyes, I
know that I am always her little son as I was.

MY BEST FRIEND

It is said a friend in need is a friend indeed). An ideal friend possesses all the qualities of head and
heart. It is easy to befriend many but difficult to choose good friends. God gives us relatives by virtue
of being born in a family, but friends we can choose.

(Wahaj) is my best friend. He is from Hyderabad., a young lad of 20 with a thin body. But he has
scholarly looks. He has a personality and manners that never fail to make an impression on others.
His presence in a company always makes it lively. Straightforward and outspoken, he never feels
shy in the company of his seniors. He respects his elders and is affectionate and kind to the
youngsters.

Despite his religious bent of mind and high thinking Rahul always keeps himself trim by wearing
decent clothes. He never comes to the school without a tie around his neck. He says that a
physically smart person is always mentally smart. His dress shows how much care he takes in
creating a total effect of his personality. There is nothing in his appearance which may give even the
slightest feeling of his indifference and carelessness. He has a disciplined way of leading his life.

I am proud of my friend. He is intelligent in studies. All the students of his class look forward to him
for guidance. He also is in the good books of the teachers. He has taken up N.C.C. in the school. He
was declared as the best cadet in the zone.

He speaks English fluently. He is also very good at writing. He has a good style of his own. Besides,
he is a good thinker. Even the teachers sometimes call for his opinions in school matters. He always
calls a spade a spade. All the things have endeared him to all of us.

MY AIM IN LIFE

For becoming a successful man, one should have a certain aim in one's life. A man without aim is
like a rudderless ship in a stormy sea. The aim of an individual should be noble and good to shape
his career in the later part of life. Without a right or aim right choice of profession the problem of
bread cannot be solved. In addition to this the purpose of birth will be defeated bringing penitence
unto him.
As an individual, I have certain needs to fulfill but simultaneously I have an aim to serve my
countrymen. The best service I can render to my countrymen is by becoming a doctor of good
repute.
Undoubtedly it is a humanitarian profession. In Hindu philosophy a doctor is adjudged as second
god. I have a great aptitude for the study of medicine. The study of medical science is for the
benefaction of mankind. By studying the art of healing I can cure diseases and fight against death.
In my view it is nobler than any other profession. In my country there are limited opportunities for the
study of medicine. Its opportunities should be enlarged for the better service of the human race.
The number of doctor is limited keeping in view the population of our vast country. The state helps
for the extension of hospitals. There is a great want in the field of well-equipped laboratories.
Laboratories are of immense necessity for research works for different systems of treatment.
Many new diseases are spreading in India an account of the lack of research work. There are
malaria, TB diseases, cancer, brain fever, asthma and blood pressure. The number hospital should
be increased for facilitating the cure of such diseases.
India is a land of villages. There is lack of trained doctors in village areas. I shall try to be a good
doctor. I have a great weakness for rendering, services to the members of the society such as
nursing the sick. I shall Try to spread education among the illiterate ones for sanitation and keep the
people aware of the environmental pollution. I have a weakness for technical education. I have been
well trained in practical art and science.
I have a good scientific basis. I shall try to produce the best of medicines with the least expense and
shall try for their serving at the cheapest rate.
As a doctor, I shall serve the people sincerely without being a money-monger. I want to be a doctor
like Dr. Bidhan Chandra. I shall work for the development of health care of the village people of my
country. I shall try for the betterment of people.
I shall stick to the profession with tenacity without wavering. I shall not lose my heart if I cannot
progress at the start. I shall have faith in myself and I shall apply myself to the task. My honest
efforts must reward me with success.
Now I am preparing for the medical entrance test. I come of a well to do family and I feel, I must do
the right thing in the right moment. If at all I am given an opportunity to study medicine I shall spend
the life in the realisation of the lofty ideals.
