SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Eligibility & Qualifications


The Shadow Ridge High School Main Booster Club awards scholarships for tuition and books in the amount of
$500.

Eligibility:
You must be a high school senior attending Shadow Ridge High School, Surprise AZ.
You must be planning to attend an accredited college, university or technical/vocational school
within 12 months of the application submission.
Scholarships are one time only.
Scholarship recipients must graduate from Shadow Ridge High School, Surprise AZ to receive
funding.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be enrolled and in good standing at Shadow Ridge High School, Surprise Az.
Applicants must submit a completed application package online, including all required
attachments no later than April 14, 2017 in order to be considered.
A minimum 2.50 Grade Point Average is required to apply (9th grade through 1st semester of
senior year) see school registrar to request.
Due to the competitive nature of this program, not all applicants who meet the qualifications
and/or selection criteria will receive an award.
Scholarship recipients will be notified the week of May 1, 2017.

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Application Process
A completed SRHS MBC Scholarship application packet should include the following items:
1. The application and all documents are required as a complete application package and must be
completed online or uploaded as a soft copy document. No handwritten or hard copy application
packages will be accepted for the SRHS Scholarship program.
o The online application process will take approximately one hour to complete (not including
writing the personal essay).
o Other documents required for the application and requiring to be uploaded must be complete and
ready at the time of application submission.
o Once the application has been submitted it is considered final and no future submissions or
revisions will be accepted.
2. Completed Online Application (personal, school, community & academic information)
3. Official Transcript (minimum 2.50 GPA).
o Requests for GPA transcripts should be submitted via an online request on the booster
scholarship website no later than April 3rd. Request for transcript to be submitted to the SRHS
Main Booster organization.
4. Letter of Recommendation from a Shadow Ridge Faculty Member. Upload soft copy document at time
of application submission.
5. Letter of Recommendation from a Community Member (non-district employee). Upload soft copy
document at time of application submission.
6. Personal Statement Essay (500 word minimum). Upload soft copy document at time of application
submission.

Selection Criteria
The following criteria will be taken into consideration when reviewing and grading applications submitted to
the SRHS MBC Scholarship Committee and selecting those applicants to receive an award.
Completeness and accuracy of the application. All documentation received as one complete package in
accordance with the application instructions.
Ability of applicant to clearly outline their educational goals and accomplishments within the content of
their personal statement essay.
Letters of Recommendation.
Ability of the applicant to outline their educational goals and accomplishments during their personal
interview with the SRHS MBC Selection Committee.
o Applicants will be screened and qualified for an interview with the Selection Committee.
o Applicants must be available to attend an interview session to last 1-2 hours. If an applicant is
unable to attend a reasonably scheduled interview time, their application will be declined.
Applications must be received NO LATER THAN APRIL 14, 2017 at 2:30pm to be eligible.

Due to the competitive nature of this program and the limited amount of annual

scholarship funds available, not all applicants who meet the qualifications and/or

selection criteria will receive an award.

Scholarship recipients must show proof of the accredited college, university or

technical/vocational school that they are enrolled in to receive funding. Scholarship

funds will be distributed directly to the accredited college, university or

technical/vocational school in the recipients name. All scholarships that are not

claimed by January 15th of the following year in which they were awarded will

become null and void.

All scholarship applications received by the SRHS MBC Scholarship Committee

become the sole, exclusive property of the SRHS MBC SC. It is the policy of the

SRHS MBC SC not to disclose to applicants or other persons the results of the

specific grading of individual applications. Every applicant will receive notification

by letter if they were or were not selected for a scholarship.
