ABSTRACT

The aim of this feasibility report on production of hair conditioning oil is to investigating
whether it is feasible to invest in such an opportunity and to apply the knowledge gained from
chemical engineering economics course. Manisa has been chosen as the city where the operation
will be conducted due to its relative proximity to ports. In the content of this report, a brief
information on hair conditioning oil has been given, market analysis has been done, plant
location and the layout has been formed. Finally, cost estimation of the plant has been found as
5436556463.by using these data, break even point has been determined and also
using projected profit values return of investment (ROI) analysis has been performed. In addition
to these, sensitivity analysis is done and optimization parameters are found.

3. Production Method

The process of herbal hair oil manufacturing involves following steps as shown at figure
biinoktabii:

6.1.1. Mixing

In this step all the ingredients like base oil, herbal extract/oils, perfumes and colors are
mixed in the desired proportions in mixing tank using slow speed stirrer for 15-20 Minutes and
then allowed to settle for two to three hours.

6.1.2. Filtration

The oil is now filtered through filter press.

6.1.3. Inspection/Testing

Filtered oil is sent to laboratory for necessary testing.

6.1.4. Bottling and Labeling

After passing through required inspection, oil is now filled in cleaned and dried
bottles in required volumes. Bottles are sealed and labeled.

6.1.5. Packaging

Bottles are now packed in corrugated boxes for marketing.

6.2. Quality Control and Standards

The quality of Herbal Hair Oil depends upon the market requirement there is no separate Indian
Standard for manufacturing of Herbal Hair Oil. Entrepreneurs are suggested to contact drug
controller in this matter and also advised to appoint an approved / qualified chemist for regular
testing & quality control.

6.3. Pollution Control

The manufacturing process of herbal hair oil does not attract pollution control measures,
however, it is advised to consult State Pollution Control Board and follow the guidelines offered
by them.

6.4. Energy Conservation

Machinery & equipments purchased should be as per relevant standard

Regular maintenance of machinerys is required.

6.5. Motive Power 5 HP

4. Plant Location

Demand for cosmetic products have significantly grew in the last century, especially among
young women. However, the growth in supply has not been proportional with the growth in
demand in Turkey. That is why plant location has been chosen as organized industrial zone in
Manisa/Turkey. Manisa has been chosen specifically for the following reasons:

Manisa is relatively close to substantial ports of Turkey.

Manisa is close to target market of the product, which are Mediterranean, Aegean and
Marmara.

Cost of living in Manisa is lower compared to major cities of Turkey, like stanbul,
Ankara, Kocaeli, zmir.

Plant will be located in the organized industrial zone in Manisa to take advantage of
government subsidies such as lower infrastructure cost, lower land cost, less bureaucracy.
5.Process Description

The balsam peru is first of all digested for 14 days in the oil, shaking the vessel
frequently. When the mixture is clear, add the essential oils one by one. The oil
keeps for a long time and resembles very much the heliotrope(vanilla flower) oil in
odor.
