Progress Place: Partnership with Washington Property Company to provide new homeless
services facility and 21 apartments for formerly homeless on County-owned land in Silver Spring.
Opened December 2016.

2nd District Police Station: Partnership with StonebridgeCarras
to build a new 2nd District Police Station in downtown Bethesda.
Under construction with completion late spring/early summer 2017.

Avery Road Treatment Center: Partnership with Potomac
Healthcare Foundation to construct and operate a replacement
residential substance abuse treatment center. State funding
commitment was approved and construction to start in FY19.

County Service Park (CSP): Partnership with EYA to master
plan 90 acres and construct required public infrastructure
improvements at the former CSP. Under construction with
completion summer 2017.
Residential development in two parts:
- Shady grove Westside
- Jeremiah Park

Shady Grove Westside: Partnership with EYA to redevelop 45 acres on the west side of Crabbs
Branch Way at the former CSP with 1,521 residential dwelling units, including 211 MPDU and
116 WF units.

First phase of townhomes is under construction and
partially occupied. The first mixed-use building is under
construction with an expected delivery date of
Spring 2017 for the retail and first multifamily units.

White Oak Science Gateway Redevelopment:
Partnership with LifeSci Development
Corporation to redevelop 280 acres (110 ac.
County-owned, 170 ac. GLDC) in the eastern
portion of the County into a bioscience-focused
mixed-use community. In predevelopment.

Burtonsville Park-N-Ride Lot: Redevelopment of a 6-acre Park-N-Ride lot in Burtonsville near the
intersection of US 29 and MD 198 into a mixed-use project that would include replacement

Jeremiah Park: Potential partnership with NVR and LCOR to develop 45 acres on the east side of
Crabbs Branch Way at the former CSP with 345 townhouses and 344 multi-family units.

Public Safety Training Academy (Former): Future redevelopment of the 52-acre site as either a
Federal facility for civilian cyber security or residential and mixed-use per the Great Seneca

Silver Spring Library Reuse: DGS issued a Request for Development Proposals for a partner to
reuse the former Silver Spring Library site for childcare and senior affordable housing. Proposals
due February 16, 2017.


Wheaton Library and Recreation Center
• This facility will combine a new Wheaton Library
and a new Wheaton Community Recreation
Center in one building.
