This stole combines two fairly easy traditional
stitches, the berry stitch, which reminds me of
strawberries, and a vine lace stitch. The body and the
border are knitted separately and sewed together.
BODY
Row 2: P3, k1 all the way across, ending with p3. Border (make two)
Row 3: K3, p1 all the way across, ending with K3. Cast on 101 stitches.
Row 5: P3 tog, (k1, yo, k1) into next stitch, repeat Row 2, right side, K3, yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1,
these two operations all the way across, ending with repeat from, ending with k1.
p3 together.
Row 3, wrong side, purl.
Row 6: K1, p3, repeat these two operations all the way
across, ending with k1. Row 4, right side, basically doing the same thing as
row 2, but shifting it all by one stitch:
Row 7: P1, k3, repeat these two operations all the
way across, ending with a p1. k2, yo, k2, ssk, k2tog, k2, yo, k1, repeat from, ending
with K2
Row 8: Repeat row 7.
Repeat these four rows until piece measures about 4
Repeat these 8 rows for the length of the shawl. I inches long. Knit 4 rows of garter stitch (knit across
recommend you do this for about 52 inches. for four rows) then bind off.
