Demo Overview
INTRODUCTION
This document and its included script introduce you to the transferring and managing of
workers and the new features included in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.
When you complete this document and demo script you will be able to:
Describe how Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 allows the user to terminate a worker from a
position and to transfer a worker from one position to another position.
Discuss how Human Resources enhancements provide flexibility during the process.

The included script should be used to demonstrate the value of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2
to a business decision maker (BDM). The executives that you are presenting to will find value in
this script if they are challenged with:

The following role examples represent key decisions makers, selection process personnel
and influencers and/or evaluators.
Human Resources Assistant (Brooke): Brooke provides administrative support
to the HR management with recruitment and maintenance of worker information.
Human Resources Manager (Claire): Human resources managers manage the
needs of a company's employees. They develop and manage areas such as
employment programs, salary compensation, job evaluations, benefits, and training
programs. Human Resources Managers struggle with obtaining information to make
decisions, managing change and maintaining employee data using a manual
process.

SCENARIO

Contoso is promoting an employee due to the departure of another employee.
Note: When demonstrating this functionality to clients, manipulate the scenario to fit key pain
points they are experiencing. A one- or two-hour discovery session may help you tailor the

PURPOSE OF DEMO (SOLUTIONS TO PAINS, BENEFITS, VALUE PROPOSITION)
Human Resources Assistant: Being able to easily terminate an employee and to transfer
an employee from one position to another position.
Human Resources Manager: Information is more accessible with navigation and user experience
(UX) changes so that discoverability of functionality is easier and data entry is not difficult.

DEMO PRESET
CONFIGURATION

Make sure that the virtual machine (VM) is up and running that you have logged on. This
script was written to work with the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 RTM VM, which was
released in December 2012.
All users are in the CONTOSO domain and the password is pass@word1. So if you are to
log on as Jacob then you would use CONTOSO\Jacob with the password as pass@word1.
The script has been written to minimize role changes and the role changes are called out
in the following script.
DEMO: MANAGE EMPLOYEES TRANSITIONS & TRANSFERS
This demo is about terminating an employee and transferring an employee from one position to
another position in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2. This demo provides an overview of the
major concepts to introduce you to new key features and enhanced features that are available
to users of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2.
