In providing quality care, sometimes the “how” can be just as
important as the “what.”
In this case, the “what” was the member’s abnormally low heart
rate. Yes, he was experiencing symptoms. No, he wasn’t planning
on seeing his primary care provider.
Following Amy’s visit, the member’s wife called the Matrix
Member Feedback Line and said, “Thank you.” She reported her
husband changed his mind and visited his doctor. From there, he
was admitted to the ER and is now seeing a cardiologist. “Likely
saved his life,” she said.
What changed his mind? The member’s wife simply said, Amy
was “excellent in her approach.”
