Should Christians Obey the Ten Commandments?

There is no question God requires our obedience, but what is it He want us to obey? Should we follow the law of
Moses, which includes The Ten Commandments? Or should we follow the new commandments given by Jesus?
When Jesus gave us the new commandments He raised the bar much higher than the Ten Commandments
(Matthew 5).

We cannot claim to follow the new commandments given by Jesus if we are still trying to follow the Ten
Commandments. If we follow the new commandments then we no longer need the Ten Commandments
because fulfilling the new fulfills the WHOLE LAW.

When we stand before the Lord, will we tell Him we opted not to obey his new commandments? That would be a
terrible mistake.

Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. He also taught us how to truly fulfill it by the spirit. It is impossible to fulfill it
any other way. That is why anyone who tries to live by the old testament law is doomed to fail, including the Ten
Commandments. Trusting in the law is trusting in our own efforts, which is pride. Trusting in the grace of God is
receiving a free gift, which requires humility. Only by the spirit and the free gift of grace can we fulfill the law.
There is no other way. That is why it is so wrong and not scriptural to say we are still under the Ten
Commandments. Those came from Moses, which was old testament. Jesus specifically referred to them in
Matthew 5 when he explained His new commandments. The new replaces the old.

The WHOLE LAW has been fulfilled by Jesus and is now being fulfilled by those who follow him by his spirit.
Unfortunately, those who follow him any other way will receive NO MERCY. That is why this is such an important
topic. The law has been fulfilled by Jesus and is now being fulfilled by those who follow His new commandments,
but it is not being fulfilled by those who reject His new commandments because they have chosen to trust in their
own ability to obey the old ten commandments.

Christ is the END OF THE LAW. It says the WHOLE LAW is fulfilled by loving your neighbor. There are NO
SCRIPTURES that say only part of the law was fulfilled and another part was not fulfilled. There are no scriptures
that say the sacrificial laws were fulfilled but the Ten Commandments were not fulfilled. MC did not send me any
scripture that says that and you didn’t either because that is not in the Bible. I challenge you to find it and send it
to me. You will not be able to find it because it is not in there. When it says the WHOLE LAW is fulfilled by loving
your neighbor, that means all of it, including the Ten Commandments. That is why I am telling you again you are
not respecting the authority of the Bible if you insist on following these contrary views.

Jesus fulfilled the whole law and made a way for us to fulfill it too. This is contrary to following the Ten
Commandments and makes no sense to people who are under the law because they are trying to earn God’s
acceptance by their own good deeds, which means they are trusting in themselves rather than in God, which
means they are full of pride in themselves, which is why God resists them and shows them NO MERCY.

In Galatians 2, Paul warns that anyone who follows the law is not under grace and is in sin. These are very clear
scriptures. Scriptures never contradict scriptures either. So there are no scriptures that anyone can find that say
that we still live under ANY PART OF THE LAW.

The Ten Commandments were given by Moses in the Old Testament. They are part of the Old Testament law.
They served their purpose, which was to lead people to the Messiah, Jesus Christ. They are no longer needed
now because we have Jesus Christ and the new commandments He gave us are far better. In Matthew 5 Jesus
explained one by one how the new commandments replace the Ten Commandments. The new commandments
are far more demanding, which is why they require us to go to God broken and humble receiving His grace as a
free gift. He gave specific examples so we would understand clearly that these replace the Ten Commandments.

I prove myself to be a transgressor. he began to withdraw and hold himself aloof. you became slaves of righteousness. I have been crucified with Christ. but Christ lives in me. so that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the Law. so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.
