ROTEX has brought a revolution in the bus door mechanism by making it simple to install and easy to
maintain. What may be seen simple to look, is as complicated as aligning the doors-both top to bottom and
sideways. All the parts of the door opening mechanism have been made by ROTEX for an easy assembly. This
is one of the (USP) of the product for simple and easy installation of the entire assembly, Special parts are
designed for specific need and functionality. Rotex busdoor systems are tested for more than a million
cycles. Most of the systems are running at different STUs in India & internationally successfully since 2004/
2005

Rotex plans to develop, the entire range of the


passenger convenience system. The first product
of the series being, the Bus door mechanism. Our
mechanism is already being used by many Bus
body developers

ROTEX provides, multiple features and high level


of passenger safety. Based on the level of
classification of the product, it is made affordable
and suitable for the specific application of the
Bus body builders.

The product is classified under four different


class A, B, C, and D each class, has different safety
levels and features to suit the economy and
passenger convenience. In the class from A to
D, A features as the best, and D as the lowest.

INTRODUCTION
BRIEF INTRODUCTION : Electric folding
door mechanism is the technology
introduced by Japan, a new improved
driving mechanism for opening/closing
by the folding door of buses. The
benefits are - compact structure, fine
performance and long life service . It also
has anti-clamp feature to overcome the
seizure of cylinder piston rod movement
to water condensation in cold areas. This
electrical door mechanism is ideal for
buses with no air supply & have foldable
doors.

ROTEX Retractable Foot Step


RRFS
OPERATION PRINCIPAL
ROTEX Retractable foot step is designed
for high floor Buses.
It is a new type of stepping structure with
features such as Closeness to ground,
safe, stable and reliable in service.
It is installed on vehicle floor for
passenger convenience.
Step is retracted while bus is in motion.
Control will be at drivers console and
interfaced with door opening/closing
A movable foot-step for a vehicle is
operable by a mechanism including a
guide device below the floor of the
vehicle for extension of the step outside
one side of the vehicle in an
outwards/downwards movement and
retraction in the opposite direction. The
foot-step comprises a support structure
over which an endless mat is stretched,
and means for retaining a portion of the
mat in the direction of movement of the
foot-step, but not in the vertical
direction.

Ramp for Physically Challenged Passengers


The Ramp system is installed below the doorway of
the vehicle for Physically Challenged passengers.
The unit is supplied in assembled condition, duly
tested, for easy installation. It is electrically
operated and when projected, it bridges the gap
between floor of the vehicle and platform. The
system provides a ramp for Wheel chairs that can
be used by physically challenged passenger.

External Emergency Cover


Function : Used for exhausting the system pressure to open the

Beeper with Indicator


Function : During the door closing, the buzzer beeps to warn
the driver. And also in case of emergency the beeping
frequency changes to warn the driver.

Anti Pinch Sensor ( PDV)


Function : Whenever there is any obstruction at the door, due
to the difference of air pressure in the cylinders, the mechanical
switch operates and that signal is sensed by the controller thus
making the door retract automatically.

Door Operating Switch
Function : These three switches are located on the dashboard in
the drivers compartment. All switches are Rocker switches with
indicator type.

The green switches are for door operating front/rear. When


the doors are in open condition, the switch will glow as per
individual.
The red switch used for resting the system if there is a case of
emergency. It starts glowing when the emergency switch is
pressed. When the system resets, the lights in the switch stops
glowing.

Function: This is a microcontroller based and it controls the
entire operation and the safety features are inbuilt in the
circuit. The controller rating is 24V DC/55W/5Amp. Additional
provisions are being made for enhancing safety.

Human Sensor
Function : It is object sensitive type. It is fitted on the mounting
plate with its sensor opening towards the floor of the bus. The
length of the sensing range according to requirement at the body
building end. The sensor is active when the door is in open
condition. During the door closing if somebody tries to get into or
out of the bus, it senses the person and gives signal to the
controller to retract the door.

Air Filter+Regulator
Function : By using this component we can control the door
open/close operation smoothly. Sudden jerks can be avoided with
constant door operation timing irrespective of pressure variation at
the main air inlet also It provides the filtered air in the system .

Dashboard Harness for Operating the Doors


Function : These three switches are located on the dashboard in
the drivers compartment. All switches are Rocker switches with
indication.
