The amount of M&Ms in a bag varies. So does the amount of each
color. We were asked to count, graph, and compare the information
from our whole class. The method we used was sorting each color
into piles and then writing the amount down. Our information showed
that all M&Ms were close except for the brown M&M. The class
information also showed that the brown M&Ms were the least
common though it also showed a larger range. Using some graphs
would be better than others for this project. For example, we used a
bar graph. A bar graph is good for this project because it shows the
amount of M&Ms and it makes it easy to see the data. Using more
than one bag of M&Ms is important because it shows if it is the same
with many bags or if it is random. The value of calculating M&Ms is
that increases your skills in excel. This project compares to many of
the lessons we have been doing. In the conclusion of this project I
believe that the amount of each color of M&Ms is mostly random.
Not completely random though. I think that more popular colors such
as green are put more into the bags than the less popular colors such
as brown.
