The Act of Teaching, Chapter 6 introduced the Planning Instructions.

This is the

process which teachers decide what to teach, how to teach and how they will

determine whether the students learned and were satisfied. Deciding what to teach

falls under the state standard. State standard classifies as having proficiency test that

measure the students and school district level that produce curriculum guides. Then,

the process of teaching starts from formulating objectives and preparing long and

short duration of planning. Moreover, it also illustrates the kind of objectives we

use which could result in three different kinds of students learning: cause learners

to engage intellectual task, deal with attitudinal and learned physical skills . Finally, it

ended up with a thought that say, Anything important deserves to be planned.

Teaching is so important. It deserves to be well- planned!

To reflect, I will start to the first process - what to teach. Every proficiency test

and school districts plan varies from country to country. This means, there is a

diverse outcome of State Standards. Moreover as a teacher, you have two ways in

teaching. Following the formal requirement done by school district curriculum

committees or a teacher could have anything they think important to teach as what

they have taught. As a teacher someday, I could practice here the Kingship and

Shepherd role. As I lead the class by serving my students, I should be mindful of what

is effective and useful for them through guiding and knowing my flocks. To have an

effective teaching, I should know them and try to correlate the essential needs they

have from the state standard curriculum of district.

Next, the knowledge of the teachings process is important. No matter how

effective is an idea, if there is no way to apply then it would be useless. So, the

process starts with creating objective. An objective should contain audience,

behavior, condition and degree of accuracy. Moreover, as I strive to follow the true

task of education, my objective should co- inside on biblical foundation. Not only I

have those four things, but they should also be rooted from the Scripture that is

applicable in the view of reality in education. I once saw my mothers lesson plan.

There, I saw that not only she had an objective but she had her key values to achieve

at the end of the class that is corresponding to a bible verse. One of the techniques I

wanted to perform when I go on teaching.

Lastly, assessment is very important to measure the level of learning. At the end

of planning, assessment will determine either to go on or remain on the present

learning. This applies not only on measuring students development but as well as to

teachers effectiveness in class. One of the values I will be possessing if I become a

teacher is to be open for correction. A teacher also needs teaching. One of the ways

a teacher could receive teaching is by seeking guidance on her/his ways. Not only,

that I will seek guidance but I will willingly apply it inside my class if it is really

needed.

In conclusion, Instructional Planning is important to all of us. This one is need to

be introduce to us, future teachers so we may be ready and prepared for the hands

on experience in doing this. As I learned the three important factors to considered in

having this, I would have no excuse to be unplanned, reckless and procrastinating

teacher someday. Instructional Planning needs a preparation and I will be well-

prepared!
