AN INTRODUCTION
ABOUT COAL
ü Composition
It is a black rock mainly composed of
Carbon.
It also has,
1.Hydrogen
2.Sulpher
3.Oxygen
4.Nitrogen
ü The Formation of Coal

Before the dinosaurs,

many giant plants died Heat and pressure
in swamps turned the dead plants
into coal

Over million of years, the

plants were buried under
water and dirt
ü Places Where we get Coal
Coal reserves are beds of Coal. They are
enough to last for many years. We get large mines
In
USA , Russia and China

* Pulverizing System
Coal has been crushed between
rollers into a fine powder.
* Cyclone Furnace Sorbents
Removes acid gas from coal emissions at a low
cost. A sorbent is a highly absorbent material Which
is injected into furnaces.
* Fluidized Bed
Combustion
Burns coal in a limestone bed that transfers heat to
water, generating steam. The limestone absorbs
SO2 . Reduces the amount of acid gases released
during combustion.
* Advance Flue-Gas Desulfurization
Emissions from burning coal are piped into a
container, where the acid gases react with an
