Stereotypes of the way men and (1) women are expected to deal with their emotions strongly affect
our culture and society, with images of overly reserved men and excitable, emotional women
immediately coming to mind. Boys are told to suck it up; girls are told to let it all out. But do

The research is mixed regarding the emotional differences between the genders. Strong evidence has
been found that there are differences in the way men and women detect, process, and
