7. WI Business:
Minutes of last meeting A copy was on the information table and on the website.
Members were asked complete the on-line surveys for the NFWI and BFWI, details on
WW news sheet and in the BFWI news letter
Dawn explained about the Dole Resealable Fridge Packs of Tropical Pineapple chunks
that we have been asked to test. There were 20 packs. The members taking a pack
need to email Dole and tell them what they think, the details were on the
accompanying leaflet. The packs were given out at the end of the official business.
Members who have brought things for the Womens Refuge were thanked. The items
will be delivered at the end of the month.
WI Bursaries 2017. Members were asked fill one card per member and pick the
bursary they would like to win. Members were told that Wycombe Wenches won 2 last
year
8. Additional Activities
Events in the last month
Dawn, Chris & Tracey attended WI officers training in Aylesbury on 26 th January
Craft Group, 2 groups met on 25th Jan and 2nd Feb. Members did appliqu, or knitting
& nattered
Book Club was held on 7th Feb. The new book is- I am Pilgrim.
Supper Club was held on 19th Jan, at Marion Bs house. Everyone had a good time.
Time was given to Rochelle to outline a possible extra activity, Planning for the
Future. These events would be hosted by WW and be run by a will writer and an
independent financial advisor. It would be open to friends and partners. A sign-up form
is available so that we can judge the interest.
Forthcoming Events
6 members are going to see The Girls, a musical, about the WI on16th February in
London.
Bake and Share on Thursday 23rd February at 3pm in Judiths house. The theme is pies
and tarts so either sweet or savoury which fits in with the theme is fine.
Supper club will be on Monday 13th March at the Polecat at 7.30pm. A table has been
reserved, but members are to order and pay for their own the food on the night.
Members need to have signed up by the end of the meeting.
WW trip to WI Fair on 31st March is fully booked. There are leaflets on the table about
this. Members were reminded that If they wanted to book an activity at the fair they
needed to do it ASAP. The web link was on the information sheet sent out with the
WW news.
9. BFWI
10. WI Life- members were told about the wear a green heart for
Valentines Day for green issues
11. AOB -Members were told about the Sale, at Stuart Lodge, of many craft
items. Its on Tuesday 21st February from 10am until 1pm. They can take their
friends and have a coffee whilst you shop.
12.Next Meeting March 8th 2017 at 8pm. Our speaker is Keith Fensom who will
be instructing us about Tai Chi. Please come in comfortable clothing so you can
move about. This is a sitting down exercise.
13.Members were then asked to help clear up by returning the chairs to the far
corner of the room.
The meeting finished at 10.10pm.
