RE: Appointment of Superintendent of Schools

We are pleased to announce that the Board of Education has selected Patricia LaBarr as the next Superintendent of the
Watertown City School District, pending formal appointment by the board at its next meeting. The appointment is effective
July 1, 2017. Mrs. LaBarr has served as a teacher, principal, and Assistant Superintendent within the Watertown City School
District for 30 years, and she has been an active member of the Watertown community throughout that time period.

Mrs. LaBarr is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam and earned her school administrative degree from SUNY Oswego. She also
completed the Superintendent Development Program at SUNY Oswego.

Mrs. LaBarr and her husband George live in Watertown, and they have two children, Paige and George, who are both
graduates of Watertown High School.

The Board wishes to thank those members of the faculty, staff, student body and community who took the time to provide the
Board with comments on each of the candidates. This input was very helpful as we worked to finalize this important decision.
