Prepared by : Ajab AL Otaibi ID:200710552

Introduction:
There are many definitions for the thinking skills one of them is that you are going beyond the information given as a complex and high-level skill and the purpose of thinking is to collect information and to m ake the best possible use of it and thinking is a skill that can be taught and gets better with practice and training. There are many barriers in the thinking skills like cognitive barrier, social barrier, psychological barrier, biological barrier and environmental barrier therefore I'm going to talk about the social shyness as a barrier in the thinking skills because I was see more people who have this kind of shyness but I wasn't realized that and I was thing it's a normal behavior. During this project I will find if this kind of shyness can be a barrier of the creative thinking and the success thinking or not. In this article I'm going to discuss the definition for the thinking skills and social shyness and the reasons for the social shyness and how we can we develop the thinking skills.

Case study:
I see in my life many people have a social shyness because they Afraid of social presence among the people . I know a guy his name is Mansor. This guy has a social shyness he was just talk with people who knows and he was can't solve his problem in correct way so his brother was help him in many things in his life and these things any one can do it without any support from others. I live with Mansor for 13 years and during these years I see some unfamiliarity behavior and when I read the studies about social shyness I discover that the behavior I was see it in Mansor it was a behavioral symptoms. These Behavioral symptoms happen when there is an unmoral shyness and if the person under the psychological pressure. These Behavioral symptoms include:

1. Lack of talk and speak in the presence of strangers . 2. Avoid meeting strangers or persons unknown to him. 3. Feelings of tight when having to start talking first. 4. The inability to speak and to speak in social events and feeling very embarrassed. All these Behavioral symptoms I see it in Mansor. He was rarely comes to the social events and if he come he wasn't talk to anyone except the people that he know. I ask my friend his name is Saif a question "Do you have a social shyness?" he said I have a little social shyness. I ask him another question I said "Saif if you in meeting and in this meeting you face new people and they ask you to give them some idea what you are going to do?" he said I will be shy and maybe I will give them an idea or maybe not but properly I can't .
y In these two cases we can observed that the shyness is a barrier for the

thinking because the social shyness prevent them to give the society their ideas so now I will discuss what is the thinking skills and the social shyness and what is the reasons for the social shyness and how we can help the people those who have the social shyness.

Thinking skills and Social shyness:
Thinking skills is that you are going beyond the information given as a complex and high-level skill. Shyness can be explained in two ways. One is the common sense description of the signs and symptoms that are present in the person. The other is to explanation of what is happening in the person who suffers Shyness. Many of us get a bit worried before meeting new people and this is normal but if this worried come with you every time and make you anxious maybe that's mean you shyness and this shyness is a barrier for thinking because if you worried to meet people so how you can come with a new idea or solve problems and this shyness come under the psychological barrier.

Eysenck & Eysenck they divided Shyness in two categories:

1- Introverted Social shyness : At this stage the person likes to seclusion and in the same time he has the ability to dealing efficiently with others. 2- Neurotic Social Shyness: At this stage the person has a conflict between building relationships with others and in the same time he has a fear about these relations.

The shyness is due to three reasons:
1- Hereditary 2- Loss of social skills. 3- A negative view of himself 4- Criticism and the threat

y Hereditary: According to the studies, about 10 -15% of children are

born with willing to be abnormally shy. This kind we can be treated them by learn and educate them who they can enter the society environment.

y Loss of social skills: the studies show that loss of social skills can be a

cause of the shyness. This kind we can be treated them by learn them the social skills and thinking skills because that will help them to have the ability to enter the society environment faster and the benefit of the thinking skills is to more this barrier.
y A negative view of himself: study for Mr Briggs and Mr Check shows

that the shyness it is a big reason for the negative self monitoring. We can treated thins kind first by define the reasons that make them have a negative view of themselves. Maybe they think they are not intelligent so we should tell them that the People are not more intelligent or less intelligent as much as they are intelligent in different ways and them maybe not intelligent in something but intelligent in something els.
y Criticism and the threat: Parents who are critical of their children

directly and openly, creating on them the fear of adults so children become shy and hesitant as well as the threat of creating a sense of fear for their reactions are only for defense.

Treatment of social shyness:
There are several ways of helping people with social shyness. These may be used on their own or together, depending on what they need. 1- Educate and learn them the thinking patterns to help them to deal with others. 2- Self ±help: If you are naturally shy, you may find it helpful to join a local self-confidence or assertiveness course. 3- Try listening more to what other people are saying, rather than what you are saying to yourself in your mind. 4- Psychological treatments: that is the best way to release yourself from the shyness. 5- Social skills training: This can help you to feel more relaxed

Conclusion:
In this article I was trying to find that the social shyness it is a barrier for the thinking or not and as I think the social shyness is a barrier for creative thinking and a barrier for success thinking. That what I discover from what I read in the studies and what I see in the Mansor and Saif case. The people how have a shyness they must solve this problem by feel independence, self-esteem, understand yourself, the ability to face the reality and the ability to solve the life problems. The gain more success in work, school, social contact and serve the community are a good result against the shyness.

The impacts of the social shyness psychology of diverse and complex and come from non-adjustment shy with the situation The shyer have a community fears, however you see back always to the subject of fear paradox only so that the shy, feel a great need to be loved at the same time it feels the need to love as it is pleased in dealing with humans, however, they do not understand the coolness of the violation and its inability to show feelings, the truth and shy do not feel absolutely comfortable and not reacting at all spontaneous, if he wants to show his feelings no matter how noble the emotional needs and turn his life psychological upside down and the volatility of the regional balance and led to the work and on the statements contrary to those that he wished to launch and where the timid wish to express t heir spontaneous shows lack of spontaneity any cold and walk away about such a situation and in pain shy of that and think to himself how they did not feel the way emotionally sympathetic to them and you see a wounded At present, he feels a sense of worrying that it was only possible in the community who live it and pay this feeling to monitor the possible manifestation that will guide him and ruminates references and words that played, and its ability to influence the excessive and shy looking, if isolati on as angry and is constantly his ideas against the society in which they keep in private at least, is convinced that, as well as

The effects of shame others are:

1) Dissatisfaction with the self 2) The confidence of a very limited third -party 3) Dignity on the basis of vulnerability 4) Small Social life

5) Low effectiveness in Work 7) For the exaggerated sensitivity to criticism
The causes of social shyness:

Shyness in psychologists concept, in itself is not only the fruit of the tree (the fear, anxiety and vulnerability) that the strength and weakness of personal is very important for being human will and sense of emotional and behavioral play an effective role essential in the life of the individual and of every human being configured myself and personal features of the from other of people and each of us and wiggles his thinking and emotions of behavior by that node shyness and Excitement emotional and psychological differ between the individual and another, of the multiplicity of conditions and factors and objective conditions surrounding the lives of every human being and people are human beings multiple features a variety of competing t o be examined each person individually to incoherence psychological links between people as a nation. It must be pointed to the key factors which help to create embarrassment and shyness of individuals, which can be summarized in two factors (factor of physical and psychological factor) and each of these factors impact the near and distant on the existence of shame and may have been some rights under the internal effects and interactions of external environment in which they breed.
The other reasons of social shyness:

1- A feeling of unsecurity leads to persons not safe not to feel secure and this results in a lack of self-confidence and reliance on others and not to engage in adventures social as they are too busy trying to feel safe and to avoid embarrassment and lack of exercise social skills poses a shame a vicious circle for them to become more ashamed because lack of social skills and positive information from others. So he take a shyness friend ass him.
Ajab Alotaibi 200710552 Page 11

2- label self shyness is preferred by some individuals label themselves (shyers) because they realize they are really shy and uncertain of themselves and begin to feel afraid and act that they do not need that those around them know that they are really shy they believe that their personalities shy not to have the resilience to do anything behavior is composed with the result of his lack of cheese, frequency and non confrontation. 3- Disability physical: there are children shy from birth interfering factor here genetics therefore find that some of the evidence supports the existence of shy is hereditary or formative Some children are Anarchist opposite of some other tend to be calm and convergence is likely to extend this type of children throughout their lives, especially under ( feelings of insecurity), and when parents are very tough and the children very shy that's leads to an ongoing struggle to become Disability hidden social phenomenon makes children are very sensitive and this leads to social withdrawal. 4- Form for parents: we find that the shy parents usually produce shy children and the intervention of the form of inheritance is strong and carry great readiness of children for this method of social contacts and be specific and talk with others of fear and mistrust. 5 - Loss of social skills: According to the expert opinion of self, some (10-15%) of children have a tendency and a willingness that they shy abnormally, while the remainder become shy either because they have no social skills or fear of the lack of acceptance of others, or fear of being ridiculed from others, leading to loss of self -confidence and self-worth. 6- Concerns the mother of excess: any mother loves her child as its most valuable, so is the mother that they must protect him from any harm or damage that may fall ill, but protection in excess of the limit makes them feel that her child would be subjected to harm at every moment and fill in the child a sense of fear, which leads to withdrawal from the game and
Ajab Alotaibi 200710552 Page 12

remain introverted and shy away from trying anything for fear of hit him any harm. By feelings of deficiency caused by physical reasons had to be poor dressing and lack of pocket money daily or a lack of school tools, and all to produce a shy child and prone to isolation. 8- Pampering by the parents: the most important causes of social shyness when the child is pampering by his parents, for example, does not a llow the mother to her child that the work that has been able to do it 9- Extra protection: that the parents are a fear to happen any thing to their child so they do all thing for him with more production. 10- Money and the threat: Parents who are critical of their children directly and openly, creating in them the fear of adults, so children become shy and hesitant as well as the threat of creating a sense of fear for their reactions are only for defense. The Genetics play a big role in the intensity of shyness genes in their genetic impact on child shyness or the shyness born with the child since birth and this was confirmed by experiments, and because gene transfer genetic traits from parents to the fetus and child shy often have no father enjoys a shame though the father may well be a relative of the father as her grandfather and Uncle child inherits some of the characteristics of the parent. The new study special filming of the nervous system stronger evidence that shyness is normal in children can occur due to changes in their brains was used, researchers at Harvard Medical School MRI to check the number of adults who were known ashamed during childhood, and when they were presented pictures of faces unfamiliar to those people the activity appear in the cerebellum have much more than their counterparts who were childhood is characterized by social activi ties. The function of
Ajab Alotaibi 200710552 Page 13

the cerebellum in vigilance and fear in the past it was believed that shame that appears during childhood and continues to often during puberty due to reasons related to the development of the brain, but this idea has not been subjected to study and research because it was difficult to place a camera the brain in young children. Therefore, by Carl Shortz and his colleagues at Harvard University study included (20) man of the older known ashamed during childhood. Shortz says that the study lead him to conclude the result of more aggressive is that the brain changes that cause shame for children can be photographed by magnetic resonance imaging and vision after two decades on the growth of these children. Shortz said to the magazine (Niusntist), one can by finding the most accurate technology changes early. The other hand, the psychologist (Ndlin) from the University (of Wisconsin) to study the extreme sensitivity of monkeys is excited to the new study says the exciting study for me is that we can understand the risk factor of early children which would help us to anticipate afflicted with anxiety in later periods of life has already begun to understand the psychological point of this. some children come near the people who do not know is a boldly and well as for the position of objects and situations that are unfamiliar with her, while others seem shy when faced with something unusual and psychologists distinguish between two categories of people are: - Category I: sensitive discouraging. - The second category: they have no such sensitivity. And is widely believed that these sensitivities is born with rights and endured them the some of the dangers children are not allergic can turn in
Ajab Alotaibi 200710552 Page 14

the future to people aggressive and non -social, while children may be shy at risk for anxiety disorders may develop some of them so-called social phobia, a condition leading to disability social, but Shortz explained that only two out of nine in the study who were infected were ashamed of anxiety and depression in later times of their lives. Kakanj has pointed (1988 kagan) to social shyness that fear social in social attitudes has a biological basis in humans has been noted that (1 15%) of normal children at the age of (2 -3) years appear to have quiet and fearful when confronted with an unfamiliar position They are cats children become shy careful when approaching a new position as the shame childhood seems to be due to the two dimensions of personal low level of extroversion and a high level of nervousness chos e Kakanj Kagan sets a group with an age group (21 months to 31 months), the group shy to show them signs to refrain from social attitudes and attachment to their mothers and remain silent and fail to get close to strangers any positions unusual second group is the group is not shy did not show failure of such children are approached by strangers and explored the environment alien and new attitudes unusual . In a study set up five hundred births (20%) of whom they are characterized by a device nervous very sensitive to show that half of these were already shyers at the age of two and the second half The y were characterized by charismatic social open to others and expressing their opinions easily and focus psychologists that the difference between the two types than boys due to the ability of parents to train their children to accept what is new and to cope with unusual circumstances. Also know that the life experiences such as injury to the child and follows the continued accumulation of experience of school failure and the impact of divorce on family life may make of brave boy born to shyness boy.
