Lung capacity
Aim:
Who has the largest lung capacity in your class?

Materials Needed:

1 balloon, string, ruler.

Method:

1. Each student has to blow up a balloon as much as possible with only one
breath.
2. Wrap the string once around the balloon and then, with the ruler, measure
how big it is. Write down the result in a suitable table.
3. Let air out of balloons and repeat two more times.
4. Take an average of the three tests.
5. Record the mass and height of each of the members of the class.

Results:

Graph
Make two graphs. The first will show how the lung capacity is related to the mass of
the person. And the second one, will show how the lung capacity is related to the
height of the person.
