Monsters - EVALUATION:
AIMS:
- Strengthening children's confidence and self esteem
Children became aware of what they are doing and what others are
doing. They also became more open to communication and
interaction as well as approaching new situations.
- better understanding and perception of right and wrong
Children are more aware of events around them as well as their own
behaviour..
- making a costume for the Carnival celebration
Children showed a lot of interest in the process. They showed the
tendency to copy from one another both in the idea as well as
behaviour.
* It was important for them to have the head band and didn't have
time for making the rest because they were too busy playing
Costumes
Monsters - EVALUATION:
OBJECTIVES:
- discovering what we know about monsters – communicating different opinions
At first most of the children perceived the term monster with scary
and bad and they had trouble accepting that others didn't think like
that. They were open to listening and often used things they heard
when talking to others about it.
- perception of monsters and correlation with “pleasing to the eye”
Children began understanding that physical appearances/state of things
doesn't always indicate the real state of things. It reflected on how
children reacted to the Carnival masks their older friend wore especially if
they covered the face.
- using combined techniques to create a pet monster
Children are by this point versatile in using materials though they still
encounter physical restrictions due to their age (e.g. cutting thick
felt materials)
- involving parents in the topic and everyday routine
Parents reported a positive feedback on the idea but not all returned
the 10 step guide.
