Develop the topic with facts, definitions, and details.

Goal:

Students will research about their future career field and hold a class job fair
(Day 2).

Cognitive Objective:

Given a worksheet and sufficient computer lab time, the student will write
and complete a worksheet questionnaire about their future career based on
their internet research with 3/4 on the rubric.

Affective Objective:
While working in the computer lab, student remain on task and attentive
receiving a on the checklist.

Materials:

-Career Worksheet

-Computers for each student

Procedure:
Introduction (5 minutes)

-Welcome class and ask students to sit quietly in their seats.

-Introduce the Career Fair Project Fair we will host the next day.
Students, you will be researching about the job you want when you grow up and with
that research information you will become a mini-expert on your field. Tomorrow we will
have a classroom career fair day and you will be asked all about your job. Be ready and
use your lab time wisely today!

Review Appropriate Computer Lab Behavior

-Explain to students that today we will be working in the lab doing research on their
particular career fields.

What do you remember about researching on the internet?

How can we tell if something is a credible resource?

What website will we be using?

Mini- Lesson: How to give a 5 minute presentation:

-Why would it be important to give a presentation in under 5 minutes?

-What do you think you should include in your presentation?

-Why is it important to give a short but informative presentation?

Computer Lab (entire class period)

Allow students the entire class period to research and fill out the Career
Project worksheet.
