WHAT MIGHT YOU SEE IN

MY CLASSROOM
Differentiated Instruction- Students will receive
differentiated instruction and accommodations
to best fit their needs. With EL students,
communicating these accommodations in every
subject area is crucial to their success.

Cooperative Learning- Small groups with varying levels of ability helps

students collaboratively learn and take responsibility for their learning.
Students have the opportunity to constantly take on new roles, learn from
each other, and inspire creative thought.

Positive Reinforcement and Patience- Acknowledging/Rewarding students

for positive behavior motivates them to be the best students that they can be.
External rewards also help students internalize motivation. Patience is
needed in the classroom to avoid acknowledging negative behavior, and
instead promote positive behavior.

MY PERSONAL TEACHING PHILOSOPHY AND ADDITIONAL TEACHING

EXPERIENCESARE LOCATED ON THE BACK
MY PERSONAL TEACHING
PHILOSOPHY
My philosophy of teaching focuses on the idea that every student has
the potential for growth. Students are in control of their own destiny,
but we must instill in them the skills and knowledge needed for them
to succeed. This requires scaffolding, positive reinforcement, and
a safe learning environment. Students need an environment where
they can reflect on real world experiences, and connect them to
their existing knowledge. In order for students to be successful, they
need help connecting their prior knowledge to new knowledge. This
helps improve their processing and memory. Students will be given
opportunities to develop these skills individually, in small groups, and
in whole-group. I am a firm believer that students learn from each
other through authentic learning experiences. Students need an
incorporation of all learning styles, especially hands-on activities.
Students need engaging experiencesthat go beyond the standards
of learning. My goal is to inspire students through personalized
education, and create a desire in them to become life-long
learners.
