Interview Questions

1 What is something you did this year that went better than you thought
it would?

- During my teaching practice when I taught the students they listen

to my instructions carefully and they were really smart, it wasnt
hard to teach them and there was no need for me to use a very
simple English while talking because theyre used to it.

2 What has caused you the most stress this year?

- We couldnt work on the tasks as we wont because of the time we

went to schools, the teachers were just reviewing the lesson so it
was hard to see the routine or other things, and the most stressful
part was that we couldnt teach the students any time we want &
what we did is my colleagues and I joined our students and teach
them one lesson together, the school gave us the waiting room to
teach the students there and it was hard to organize the room
because it was full with games, tables and other stuff, also it was
hard to get the students out from their classes some teachers didnt
agree and other were busy reviewing the lessons, so taking the
students at break time was the only solution for us to gather the
students in the waiting room and teach them.

3 What is one way that you grew professionally this year?

- I had attended teachers meeting, where they would talk about the
curriculum, what would be easier to do for the students, what kind
of activities they need to know, which students need more
attention, the teachers start giving some issues they faced in their
classes and other teachers would gave them some solutions. I
helped my assistant teacher during the bus duty we would walk
around KG classes and called out the students that belong to the
bus that my assistant teacher responsible for. Also I take my class
for the morning assembly, I asked to line up and walk with them tell
they stand on their lines on the assembly. During the revision for the
exams my teacher and I divided the class into half, she toke some
students and I toke the other half, we started to give them
worksheets, small exams, also practice writing the words with them.
At the very last week on my TP I had observed the students during
their exams and helped them with the things they dont know, also I
had gave some students the exam by myself which were a new
thing that I did in TP.

4 Explain how you differentiated activities and supported students this

semester?
- At the beginning of my TP before teaching the students. I had
observed them for one week, and I start knowing them more, know
their levels and what each of them need to understand better. When
I got the chance to teach them I have prepared different types of
activities that would suit the students with different level. I made
sure that the students will be able to do the activities and the tasks
I gave them, by preparing the activities to be challenging for the
students not too difficult or very easy. I supported them by helping
them with things they dont know or when I see them struggle to do
thing I would ask them questions that would guide them to the
answers without me telling them directly what to do, so they would
depend on themselves to do the tasks, and if they didnt understand
the meaning of what I say I would explain it to them in an easier
way.

5 Which student in your class do you think showed the most

improvement? Why do you think this student did so well?
- A girl named Gaya. Gaya had some difficulties with the writing, she
knew the letters but she couldnt put them in order to write a
correct word. The teacher told that maybe shes shy to write in front
of her classmates, so she asked me to take some time with Gaya
and sit with her alone, to see what she knew and what she dont. I
asked her first to write some letters and she did well, later on I
asked her to write a few words for example; when I asked her to
write Jam she wrote Jew instead. I worked with Gaya for two
days on reviewing the letters and their sounds, and she started to
do well during the revision in class. I think that she did well because
she had given the right amount of attention she needs, shes smart
but she didnt know few things so when I sat with her and taught
her what she didnt knew, she did really well at the end.

6 Who was your most challenging student? Why?

- The hyper-active student. It was hard to deal with him during the
class because he wont stay still, he wont listen to anyone he will
just run around the class, he will go to the teacher distract her then
come back to me and play then he would talk to his friends. During
my teaching he did the same he wouldnt stay in his place and he

would talk too much to the level you cant ignore him. The only way
that I saw and it worked with him is to tell him that you will take him
to the principle or that you will take him back to KG-1, when you say
that to him he would behave but only for a few minutes.

7 Describe the behavior management strategies you used this year and
their effectiveness.
- I used the reward system and the rules only. The rules by itself was
enough for my class because they were great students who would
listen to their teacher and would follow the rules exactly, also their
teacher have rules number for example if they start talking
together, the teacher would say rule number three then the
students will replay quite mouth then they will stay quit. The
reward system was only to encourage their good behavior, to let
them stay focused and quit during the lesson, and it worked well.

8 What was the biggest mistake you made this year? How can you avoid
making the same mistake in the future?
- My biggest mistake for this year were that I was being too friendly
and playful with the students, it was a mistakes because the
students wont take me seriously as a teacher at the beginning, also
that I couldnt punish students who misbehave. I did avoid this
mistake during my practicum by showing the students the teacher
image, I played less with them, I gave them tasks to do and teach
them some lessons, so that they would think of me as a teacher.
Then the students act differently with me and start to respect me.

9 Describe the progress that you made towards your PDP goal and show
evidence to support this.
- My PDP was to develop my preforming arts during TP, I think I have
achieved this goal with my colleagues when we taught a lesson
during TP which include the preforming arts, being with my
colleagues make it much easier.
