11th Grade Reflective Essay

As a student and as a person, my high school career has helped me develop into the

person I am today. I have matured into a student that is consistently trying to help my classmates

where I can, always looking for ways to understand a concept if I do not understand it, and being

curious to learn something new. To reach some of my academic goals, I took the necessary

courses that would teach me how to get started into pursuing a career in film/photography. I have

many influential people around me like my English teachers, my counselor and most of all, my

mom. My high school career has helped me evolve into the person I am today.

First of all, I have matured into a student that is consistently trying to help my classmates

where I can, always looking for ways to understand a difficult concept if I do not understand it,

and being curious to learn something new. Inside the classroom and out, I try to help my

classmates if and when needed. Also, if there is a difficult concept I do not understand, I look for

ways to understand and master the concept. Lastly, I find it satisfying to learn new things inside

the classroom and out. I find that my high school career has helped me develop into the student

that I am today.
Secondly, I have done many things throughout my high school career to reach the

academic goals I have set for myself. First, through trying out different electives throughout my

high school career, I found that I wanted to pursue a career in the film/photography field. To do

so, I took the necessary courses to get started in that field such as Video Production 1 and

Photography 1. In the classroom, I paid attention to learn new techniques to become more aware

in the film/photography field. With the help of my high school career, I have reached the

academic goals I have set for myself.

Lastly, throughout my high school career, I have had many different people influence me

in multiple ways. First, my English teachers, like Mr. Marquez and Mrs. Knighten-Miller, have

always believed and encouraged their students to surpass expectations. Secondly, my counselor,

Ms. Padilla, has helped me find what I am passionate about and what courses I need to do to

pursue a career in this field. Most of all, my mother also influenced me to pursue greatness and

to do my best with my future. While going through my high school career I have had many

adults influence me to do more than what was expected of me.
