Dear Parents/Guardians,

My name is Sarsawati Chhetri and I would like to formally introduce myself to you. I am in my
senior year at the University of Arizona, studying English as a Second Language (ESL)
Elementary Education. I will be student teaching under the guidance of your childs 1st grade
teacher, Mr. Contreras, this spring 2017 semester. During my student teaching, I will be co-
teaching with him and will consequently be an additional teacher of your child for the remainder
of the school year.

I was born and raised in Nepal, but have been living in Tucson for past eight years. Beside taking
classes and getting practical experiences working with children by being in the College of
Education for three years, I have also worked with ages 6 to 19 students as a tutor and a
coordinator. Outside of working with children, some of my interests include: cooking, hiking,
reading, dancing, and traveling.

I have looked forward to this time of my college career and I am excited to get to know and learn
from your 1st grader this semester. I will progressively increase my responsibilities with the
students over the course of the semester and conduct four lead teaching weeks. I look forward to
meeting you at parent conferences, field trips or at school! Please feel free to contact me for
anything you may have regarding your child or questions you may have for me. My email is
schhetri@email.arizona.edu. Thank you!

Sincerely,

Sarsawati Chhetri
