students will be able to : identify new vocabulary (onion, fish, soap, mango, flowers, smoke,
perfume, coffee, mint)
Students will be able to: guess what they smell while close their eyes.
Students will be able to: speak with each other in group about if they like the smell of different
object or dont like.
Students will be able to: answer questions on their activity book individually.
Students will be able to: write three smells that they like it.

Materials: PowerPoint, pictures of signs, rules in cards,

Possible Problems and Misconceptions:

Some students might not bring their pencils.

The data show or computer doesnt work.

The time of activity not enough for students.

Solutions:

I will bring some extra pencils.

I will display vocabulary on flashcards.

I will give students extra time.


Lesson Schedule

Targeted teacher language: good afternoon girls, how are you. What is today? What is today's date?

Student language: good afternoon Ms. Fatema I am fine thank you. How are you? Can you help? I done

Engage (warm up, review prior knowledge): time:

After the greeting, I will ask the students about the day and the date and then I will write

it with the objectives on the board.

I will give the objects that smell into a bag.( onion, soap, flower, perfume, coffee, mint) 7 min

I will ask students to sit on the floor in a circle.

I will choose one of them and tell her to close eyes.

I will Take out one object and give student the chance to smell it (still with their eyes

Closed) and say what it is.

I will Put the object back in the bag, ask student to open her eyes and tell me what

She thinks the object was.

I will repeat with the other objects and other students.


Core (introduce and practice new concepts & procedures):

I will display to them the PowerPoint have new vocabulary with their pictures.
I will explain them the definition of vocabulary one by one and write it after repeat
it 3 times on the white board.
After finish vocabulary activity, I will make 5 groups and give them flashcard have
picture (onion, fish, soap, mango, flowers, smoke, perfume, coffee, mint) and
question is do you like the smell of ? And answer yes I do , no I dont
I will explain to them activity and what flash card have and tell them. For example
first student ask question is do you like the smell of onion? Second student has to
answer .If she like smell say yes I do but if you dont like it say no I dont .
I will tell them I will put timer on board 7 minutes to do this activity .when hear the
buzzer you have to stop.
I walk around to observe how they do and what they say and assist them as
needed.
After finished time ask them if more need time to get 2 minutes more.
I will do activity 1 on page 95.
I will focus on the pictures and the question.
I will ask them a first question: Do you like the smell of (flowers)?
After students answer then write in their Activity Books .they have complete all
activity individually. 35 min
I walk around to observe and assist them as needed
After finish activity, I will ask the questions and choose student to answer it.

Close (wrap up, discussion, brief review activity or assessment): 3 min

I will do activity challenge on activity book page 95 about write three smells that you like
it.

Reflection: 21/2/2017

I think in warm up was good and students were able identify to smells of thing. They
said what they smell in Arabic .also they were excited to do activity .all students were want
to do it and were telling .MS. let me do it please.in activity new vocabulary on PowerPoint , I
displayed to them pictures related with words. I like this way to teach them new vocabulary
because help student to get meaning of word faster and keep in their mind for long time.
Also repeat the words 3 times help to practice on pronunciation. In speaking activity, I told
them more details in instructions. The students were able to speaking; I was walk around
them to hear what they speak. I think the lesson was good but sure I will try to do the best in
next class.
